Personality:
Mental Summary written by Doliph Mallosteran, Grimlocke Corps Medical Chief.
The short time I've spent evaluating has revealed much to me. What I have found is both fascinating and unnerving, but I have yet to even truly scratch the surface of his psyche. As such, I can not even provide a full page worth of material. This report will be short.
Alik seems to possess a strong desire for freedom and a penchant for exploration. His patience is limited, and he does not like to stay in one place for long. He wanders for the most part aimlessly and randomly, with no particular destination in mild. Quite curious, however, is his preference of environment. He seems to have a particular fondness for barren places like deserts, and places that are far from any sort of larger government. He also seems to enjoy the company of fellow travelers, renegades, bandits, criminal gangsters, roughnecks, and surprisingly enough, farmers and foresters. All of these groups have one or both of two things in common. The first is general lawlessness. The second is the general tendency to provide for oneself, rather than rely on help from a large community. I have concluded that Alik holds respect for one's ability to live by the sweat of his brow, and free-spiritedness.
I am uniquely perplexed at Alik's unexpectedly stable temperament. Knowing what I do about Type-5 model E.A.T.Us, I expected him to be outgoingly aggressive. To the contrary, he is rather calm and sociable. That is not to say that he is not at all hostile, but he is somewhat strangely self-controlled for a Type-5. As one would expect from a man like him, he is not very formal, and speaks using slang common amongst bandits of the Lawless Frontier. Despite this, he isn't a particularly unpleasant to converse with. He's very capable of laughing at a good joke, and sympathizing with others under the right circumstances. There is one rather large gaping flaw in hole in his personality, however, which I believe to be the reason for the innumerable amount of atrocities that he has committed over the years.
Alik possesses a disturbing numbness towards death and killing. He is quite literally a sociopath when it comes to death. I could go on for a few more paragraphs describing how he perceives death, but I believe his own words sum it up better than mine do.
"I don't get why folks assume that death is a bad thing. It's just the end of a road. I don't know whether or not there's an afterlife, but if there ain't, then I can promise you that you ain't gonna care where you are, or what you feel once your brain shuts down, and that ain't nothing to be afraid of. And if there is an afterlife, big whoop you pazers! All that means is that you've moved into a different house. For all you know, your life might be better after you die, and you move on beyond those shiny gates or whatever you call them. No matter how you look at it, death shouldn't be the huge problem you folks make it out to be. You shouldn't care whether or not I shoot you to bits, and neither should I."
Alik admittedly, and literally believes that there is nothing wrong or right about taking the life of another living creature. Most Type-5s seemed to take pleasure in killing after they went renegade, but Duster seems to stand out from the norm by being mostly indifferent about murder. This, combined with the common "kill twitch" that plagues all Type-5s, makes him a very chaotic and unpredictable killer. I must confess that this frightens me. Moreso than a heavily enhanced super soldier who bathes in the bile of his victims would. At least I can easily classify such a thing as an enemy. But this man, this "Duster" as he prefers to call himself....I don't know. I simply don't know what to call him.
Be wary of him, Commander. I have no way as of yet of knowing if he plans to betray us, but if he does, then I am doubtful that we will be ready for it.
