Outside GDC North Police Station ~ Parking Lot - 12:31 PM
As the time grew closer for Aire and Sorel's departure, Yuro was forced to leave the premises, to avoid any unfortunate mishaps with the new vampire. Aire was released from her cell shortly after, and under escort from Arlin himself, taken outside to wait. It seemed as though all the loose ends had finally been wrapped up, as the small group waited on the steps.
Aire
Bright. That was one word for it. I squinted my eyes as I pushed my glasses up on my nose... it was simply too bright.
"Gah, why is it so damn bright?" Sorel just laughed a little, and I shot him a glare the best I could while squinting.
"Just calm down, that's the first thing you'll get used to, trust me." I just grumbled, and my hand up, shielding my eyes from the sun overhead. I noticed my hands were pretty pale in this light as well. I shuddered a little, thinking about how I had looked in the mirror... I didn't quite know what Yuro would think of that.
"H-Hey Sorel, how do I look?" Sorel blinked at me, looking me over. It felt strange asking someone who looked that young, but I had a feeling he was older than he let on to me anyways.
"Flat-chested, tall, and shaggy." I smiled as my left fist connected with the back of his head; It only got better as he held the back of his head, whimpering a little. Jeez, he never said anything like that when he was at school.
"I meant, 'now that I'm a vampire', you little brat."
"Bleh, you were pale to begin with." Sorel stuck his tongue out at me, and I groaned. I really had to spend a several hour car ride with this guy!?
"Ah so lively! The joys of being young, caring about the little things..." That Arlin guy basically mocked us as we waited, but then I noticed something... his jacket was off, revealing a red vacation shirt underneath. That sneaky bastard... was he using this for a free ride!? This car ride... it... it was going to be the death of me. I-I'm sorry Yuro, I'm not going to make it. I promptly began to feign crying on the spot.

Solala was still in her work attire, though she was noticeably prettier, having taken the time to brush her hair and apply her make up. She simply ignored her boss as she waited for Malik to arrive. She didn't have to wait much longer as her fiance pulled up in a lamian sedan, with Aire's more essential belongings already packed.
"You guys ready?" Malik shouted out to them.

Aire
I wasted no time dashing to the car, and- holy shit I was fast. I immediately stopped myself, coming an inch from leaving a large, Aire-shaped dent in the side of the sedan.
"Ha... haha... this is awkward." I laugh nervously, as I looked over the car and spied Sorel's hair as he got in. He had no trouble getting in the car. Me? I nailed my head on the top of the car when I was getting in.
"Ow, ow ow..." I shot Sorel a look as he snickered, and looked around; it was actually a fairly large car. That Arlin guy slid in upfront of us, grinning at our driving.
"Sup Malik? How's it all hangin?" Oh crap. Were these two friends? ...I did notice something off about this Malik guy now... he looked like a human, but he didn't smell like one. Sorel seemed to notice it too, as his head was cocked to the side a little. Well, I suppose that explained why he was our driver, but still...

"Oh, you know. Just chaufering, two vampires to Malen. Everybody does it on their first day of engagement," Malik jabbed at his old friend. Solala slithered into the back, and leaned over the console to kiss him. "You're doing a lot better than I thought you would," he said to her.
"Well, now that all of the paper work is out of the way, I can relax for a little bit. Not much else to but enjoy the drive." Solala, of course, allowed Arlin to take the passenger seat. Not out respect for her boss, but so that she could get back at him more easily if he should embarrass her. It was becoming increasingly clearer that she had learned just how to deal with the Director's shenanigans. "You two are probably wondering why Malik isn't triggering your senses like he should be."

Malik's Car ~ Parking Lot - 12:34 PM
Aire
"... Uh, maybe?" I struggled to think of what he could be if he wasn't human. His ears were normal, so, he wasn't an elf or a beastkin, and his legs didn't look like prosthetics so... uhm..
"Is he an... ave?" I asked hesitantly. If so, that would mean his wings had been cut off at some point... proooobably against his will. I couldn't imagine what ave in their right mind would give up the ability to fly. Hell, I would love to be able to fly like aves do!
"Bingo! Don't let his looks fool you, bird boy here is 100% grade A ave! Just, uh... a little lacking in the wing department." I zipped my lip right there. Asking about that sort of stuff wasn't something I was keen on, because I knew how badly it could backfire. I reached up and grabbed the seat belt, and pulled it around me, clicking it in the slot, while Sorel did the same.
I looked out the window at the city before Malik started moving the car. It wasn't an area of the city I went to frequently, but I lived here. This city was my home. Even if I lived in Malen for the rest of my life, I would still think of Grand Divide as my home.
"H-Hey, Aire... um.. don't get homesick before we even starting moving, okay?" If Sorel was trying to make me feel better, that was NOT the way to do it. Yeah, I didn't even bother acknowledging that.

Malik scratched his head over Sorel's comment. "Well if you ask me, starting a new chapter in your life is like getting into a cold pool. You just gotta dive on in, or you'll be clinging to the ladder forever.
So with that, let's get out of here as fast as we can!" Malik started the car up, and took off, driving down the streets of Grand Divide as fast as legally acceptable.

Malik's Car ~ Grand Divide Entertainment District - 3:05 PM
So the long trip to Malen went on, until they were finally out of the bulk of Grand Divide properly, entering the entertainment district on the bridge. As they flew down one of the many long, straight boulevards that followed the bridge, they passed gaudy shops, theme parks, arcades, and several movie theaters. Luxury homes dotted the distance, as the endless stone and metal of the bridge seemed to stretch on almost endlessly in every direction. It was a part of Grand Divide Aire had never been to before. And it was one she would never really get the chance to go to either.
Aire
Two... two and a h-half hours to just get to the bridge. Why... why!? This trip was agonizing! It pretty much showed me JUST how much of the city I'd never even been to. It was enormous, well kept... the entire city was beautiful today. And now, this impossible huge bridge stretched out before us.
"Damn, forgot how gaudy this place was. Bust the lead out Malik, I don't want to catch the lack of taste this place has." I silently nodded in response to Arlin. This place did lack... a sense of... I dunno... humility? Yeah, I'll just go with that. It was overdone in every way possible, but I still thought it was sorta pretty.
"Daaaamn, I though the aves in Edge were tacky." Sorel said, looking out the window on his side.
"Eh... its not all bad. Look at those canals over there." I pointed out the window, and Sorel leaned over Solala to look. Several wide canals seemed to wind their way through the stores, attractions, and luxury homes, the water sparkling in the sunlight. It was a very different world than the city on the mainland... this whole, enormous area, was one massive bridge! I mean, I'd only heard about it in class before, never been here myself!

Solala was looking out the window at the houses and canals as well, enjoying the scenery. ...That is, until Sorel leaned over her, to which she quickly pushed him back into his seat with her tail, folding her arms in front of her as if covering her already covered self. "Do you mind?"

Malik's Car ~ Grand Divide Bridge - 6:07 PM
The ride continued much like that for quite a long ways, until there was nothing around them. No buildings, no trees, no grass, just bridge. Sorel and Aire both acted much like one would expect of curious teenagers, until there was no longer anything to comment on. Arlin and Malik joked with each other until even they ran out of things to talk about, and then they fell dead silent.
Aire
"So.... bored..." I could see the sun setting behind the walls of the bridge. First time here, and I was sick. of. it.
You know what was worse? I couldn't see the end of the bridge still through the front windshield. I glanced over at Sorel; he had his phone out now, and I think he'd been talking to someone while I was zoning out...
"Uh huh. Uh huh." Sorel nodded to the phone, a light smile across his face, "Right... I miss you too. I know, I know. I told you how badly I screwed up. Love you too. Alright, bye." I raised an eyebrow at this, and Sorel stared blankly at me for a moment.
"W-What? C-Can't a guy call his mom every now and then?" He mumbled under his breath, and I just chuckled a little. I'm not whether it surprised me or not, but it did please me a bit. I'd never caught him doing it before, but still... bah. I had to be bitten by the pansy of all vampires. I guess my luck sucks like that. I leaned up against the door, and took out my phone as well.
"Yeah, I'm not laughing at you... sorta glad you keep in touch with her actually. I mean, that says something, doesn't it?" I began to mindlessly text Yuro during this conversation. Perhaps it was something boring perhaps it was something else.
"This trip sux", I typed into my phone, and sent to Yuro. Knowing him, he was probably still moping about what happened.
zzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz
"Who... oh, Arlin." No wonder everything was so quiet. The dude had talked himself to sleep.... really, what a weird guy.

Yuro's Room - 6:07
Unknown to Aire while she was on her long, dreary road trip, moping around was exactly what Yuro Malculn was doing that particular day, and while mostly about the events that took place last night, he was also bored out of his mind at the moment. School had gone just like normal he supposed, except without Aire and Sorel it was a whole lot quieter and less entertaining, and it was just... awkward with Syaila now. He was still attracted to her, yeah, but it just didn't feel the same anymore, and he imagined it was the same with her. Afterwards, they were still friendly to each other, but there was a certain mood in the air that kept any kind of conversations they tried to keep up to a friendly, yet unfamiliar conversation. It was like meeting a new person almost. Talking to everyone else was the same, but it didn't feel right either. Everything felt wrong, unbalanced without his best friend to talk to... but now, that was gone, and he was playing Conviction Cog on training mode beating the crap out of a dummy with Irefell.
The boy therefore almost cried with relief when his phone vibrated, desperately lunging at it and consequently falling straight off the bed, slamming his head against his nightstand, and causing his gaming system to fall from the table straight onto the ground, where it promptly gave him the dreaded orange light of death. Irefell gave off one last demonic roar before the game turned into a black screen, the TV giving him only blank static for his loss. Yuro would have facedesked if he wasn't holding his head in pain, his phone loosely gripped in his right hand as he blinked away the upcoming tears that were stinging his eyes.
"Owww..." He groaned, glancing at his phone for the message that he had painstakingly received.
"This trip sux" '
"..." Had he really orange lighted for that? Still, the message gave him a grin just because of the random nature of it, and the fact that she was stuck with Sorel for a few more hours. Keeping his laughter to himself, he slowly typed in a few words of response, letter by letter. He never was good at the whole "texting" thing. He also hated the whole text lingo, and immediately wanted to tell off Aire for not taking the time to type in "sucks" to him.
"I bet. How's Sorel doing? The whole school made up some weird rumors about you two when you left." He mindlessly began to text back, random thoughts coming up into his mind as he slowed typed in the characters. Somehow, it kept his mind off things, bringing a light smile to his face.

Malik's Car ~ Grand Divide Bridge - 6:08 PM
Aire
I almost laughed as I got the message back. Really, rumors were already starting?
"Hey, Sorel. Rumors already started at school." I said, trying to hold back my laughter and keep my face as straight as possible. Sorel's eyes widened, and then a grin came over his face.
"Tell him to tell them the truth. Should be a bit of chaos from that. Should nip that dumbshit professor Yarl in the tail, too."
I nodded, grinning. If there was every a time to fuck with the people from school, that time was now. I wasn't so... *cough* moral, that I wouldn't take a chance for hilarity like this. I began texting furiously, laughing just a little under my breath.
"Tell them the truth dude, and see how many believe it. I'll send you a pic." I flipped the screen around, facing the built in camera around.
*click*
*send*
Probably the most awkward smile I've ever given, but I couldn't help but send it. Tomorrow would be hilarious for him if Yuro played his cards right. Though... some part of me thought that that picture might upset Yuro. Sorel rolled his eyes as he sat in his seat, watching the seeminly endless bridge go by. Well, least I had something to do now...

Solala heard the phonecall between Sorel and his mother. She found it a tad touching that he still talked to his mother, though it raised a question.
"How long have you been a vampire?"

Yuro couldn't resist a grin as the message displayed on his phone, for once in what seemed to be a long while actually laughing, his voice carrying over downstairs most likely. Man... the reactions of the schoolteachers and students would be enough to keep him in hysterics for ages. Especially since he had gone through one of the high points of the day, listening to all of the conspiracy theories surrounding Aire and Sorel. One girl (Yuro swore she almost had hearts in her eyes) had sighed romantically, proclaiming that Sorel had definitely asked Aire to elope with her. Another had said that Sorel had kidnapped her, shoved her in the back of a van with a group of young teenage girls, and drove off for Rellinis to avoid capture. Regardless, most somehow managed to paint Sorel as a villain, and it was getting out of hand rather quickly. Tomorrow would be a fun day indeed.
"Got it. Tomorrow will be awesome. School's not the same without you two. Everything feels weird." He mindlessly began to text back again, hitting send quickly as his mind wandered around from subject to subject. Yuro smiled, leaning back in his bed as he typed, this really had helped him.

Malik's Car ~ Grand Divide Bridge - 6:09 PM
Aire's picture showed up on Yuro's phone shortly after the message. It was Aire, certainly... but with red eyes, and fangs. The camera angle was bad, but at least the image was clear enough. Given the holographics technology in their phones, the image popped out a little bit from the phone, enlarging itself bigger than the screen.
Aire
I snickered a little... Yuro knew all too well what to do. Of course, without his partner in crime, he really would be at a loss as of what to do. Well, I suppose he still had Mayris... honestly, I wanted to video chat with him, but I didn't want to interrupt Solala and Sorel's conversation...
I quickly sent another message, "I bet it does. Guess what. This bridge is fuxin long." I looked out the window, and kept typing, "Briiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidge." Yes I actually held the damn "i" that long.
Sorel
Well, I ... was she really asking me that? Well, i suppose I could answer it, but...
"Well, I was bitten when I was sixteen, so... about fourty-two years since then." I instantly regretted saying this aloud; Aire's mouth hung open for a second, and she began to furiously text something to Yuro.
"A-Ah, hold on, you don't have to tell him anything, really, its not that big of a deal." I tried to sound as innocent as I could, honestly. It would be even more awkward for them to know that. Aire just laughed, and turned her phone around for me to see.
"LOL. Sorel is actually 58. Holy shit." Message Sent Right there, all the color drained from my face. What had I done to deserve that? I shook my head, looking at Solala.
"Its a crap story about how it happened, anyways. Some vampire thugs actually kidnapped me for ransom, but my mother simply couldn't pay it. It was really just shit luck on my end." The most shit luck of my entire life, really. But then again, I suppose this whole getting deported thing was up there too... though I didn't mind this as much.

Solala sat there, thinking about what he had just told her. "Fifty-eight years. That would put your mother in her seventies, at least. I... wonder how she must feel, knowing that her son will never age, or that she'll never have grandchildren."
