Screams could be heard from inside the neighboring houses as Bulgrish fired his warning shots at the necromancers.
"YOU CRAZY OLD ORC! Are you trying to kill the people, too?!" One of them spat.
"Uuuuuh, Mayor?" Darius looked to Krez, who raised his shield arm in defense.
"We hold our ground until Dr. Kelsey returns. I have a sneaking suspicion this is that aren's friend. Try not to engage him."
"Winter, Winter!" Peppermint came rushing into the basement as shots could be heard outside. "Mr. Bar Man is here! His truck is parked along the side of the house!"
"Well, he certainly made his entrance. Nebula, go out the back and pack the crates into the truck. Peppermint, pack the luggage in the car's trunk." Winter emerged from the basement, massaging his brow under his mosh cap as he walked toward Jessica. "Don't mind the orc out there. He's a friend of mine," he spoke to her. "I don't think we've been properly introduced. My name is William Green. I'm a professional hacker and sniper. Is there anything I should know before I take Nebula into my care?"

-Nebula-
"Alright Winter, I'll handle it." Without any further delay, the gravity controlling android placed the multitude of belongings and computer equipment into Bulgrish' truck.
"Alright Winter, I'm do-" Nebula was caught off guard as a deafening BOOM echoed from the distance, as an enormous explosion went off close to the horizon from where they were. An angry looking mushroom cloud rose up into the skyline, with what seemed to be... blue energy surging through the blast.
".... well that's a good distraction."
-Arlee-
Arlee gaped as the explosion thundered off in the distance... the earth shook, the windows rattled, and Lili wrapped her arms around her waist.... well, it was pretty obvious that anyone that young would be afraid of explosions after what had happened here. The little lamia whimpered as she buried her face in the aren's side.
"My god... what on earth caused that!?" Jessica seemed as stunned as anyone else... that was certain to draw the necromancer's attentions for a good couple of minutes too.
"No idea. But it might just be good for us. Taking the attention away from us and all. That explosion is certainly... unusual enough to manage that." She looked to Winter, remembering his power, apparently at the same time as her mother.
"Winter, did you feel anything? That's... not a normal explosion."

Bulgrish didn't need to look behind him to realize what just happened. His suit's sensors told him well enough. As horrible as the implications of this were, he'd been taught that even the most grim circumstances could be used to one's advantage.
"What!? Did you think I was kidding!?" the orc shouted over the built-in megaphone.
"If you don't want the same to happen to this neck of the woods, I suggest you all clear out. NOW!"

As Bulgrish yelled out over his mech's megaphone, a rock bounced off of his windshield. A lamian boy stood ontop of the roof a small apartment building, and threw what pieces of debris he could at the orcish battle mech. "How could you!? You lousy orc! You're just as bad as Devoid! Bully! Terrorist!" His mother scooped him up and away as he continued to shout at the old orc, hiding away into the building. But seemed that the little boy's outburst gave the necromancers a boost in morale. "The kid's right. You're just a big, crazy bully. You're the one who doesn't belong here. If you wanna start a war here, in the middle of this neighborhood, we'll tear you apart! So why don't you get out of here?" The necromancers began to assume aggressive postures. One wrong move and Bulgrish could turn the entire neighborhood into a battlefield.
"Uuuuuh, Mayor?"
"He's bluffing, Darius. Stay calm," Krez whispered.
Winter felt the earth shake and a light shine in the distance outside his window. "Winter Winter! Something exploded!" Peppermint came running into the living room, and between her and Jessica's hysterics, and the arens' eyes on him, Winter had to take charge.
"The explosion is a secondary concern! Jessica, focus. I'm about to take an android you've built and raised with your own hands away with me. Is there anything I should know so I can take care of her?"

-Jessica-
Jessica shook her head, trying to get her thoughts back on track, back to being helpful. Winter needed to know anything that was particular to Nebula, anything unique to her to systems.
"Well, you need to re-calibrate her systems monthly to reset the flow of energy from her power core to her gravite nodes, or else they'll overload over the next few days. However..." Jessica couldn't help but smile a bit as she looked at Peppermint, "If this one here is any indication, you have the rest covered quite exceptionally." Nebula looked down for a moment, a little embarrassed
-Arlee-
Arlee would have said something, but she was continuously reminded of the lamian child holding onto her for safety.
"... Someone needs to calm those guys down. Its going to be hard to even leave if they get any more riled up than they already are." Mileena nodded in agreement; if those necromancers hit their breaking point, the neighborhood would turn into a war zone, and destroy what was left of it.

((For the record, Bulgrish isn't going to make any effort to calm the people down. That would defeat the point of being a distraction, especially since they have a clear shot now for both Bulgrish's van and Winter's car.))

"Calming them down is a non-option," Winter spoke up. "It's time for us to move. Mileena, Arlee, if you are coming with me, get in my car. It's parked on the side, next to the van. Go out through the back. It should be open. Peppermint, I want you to get in the passenger seat of Bulgrish's van. Direct him to follow me after I've made it to the Bridge."
"Oki doki, Winter!"
"Jessica," the green-eyed aren turned his attention back towards the scientist. "It's time for us to part ways. It was a pleasure meeting you, given the circumstances. Nebula, are you ready?"

-Nebula-
"But what about..." The android's eyes drifted over to Lili, who was effortlessly being picked up by Mileena, and being carried out towards Winter's car, Arlee closely behind her.
"Android, you're with us. Say your last goodbyes quickly, and let's go." Arlee was a little harsh, but she was right. If they stayed too long, the distraction would spiral out of control quickly. Nebula turned to Jessica, and put her hands on her creator's shoulders.
"Hey, now, Jessie... we can still call each other, right?"
"Yeah, we can. Don't worry about that." Jessica couldn't help but give her friend and creation one last, big hug, "Now you get out of here, Nebula. I'll be fine with Krez and Darius. And Winter...." Jessica gave the half-aren a long, hard look. It was an odd kind of analytical look, as though she was making sure of something.
"... Take care of her, okay?" Jessica gave Nebula one last squeeze before running back out to Darius and Krez, and Nebula headed towards Winter's car, getting in the back seat with Mileena and Lili. Arlee glanced back at them for a moment from the passenger's seat, before looking out the window, presumably waiting for Winter.

Winter nodded towards Jessica, and waited for Nebula and the rest to leave his house. Peppermint followed after them, her tiny frame effortlessly carrying several bags and suitcases. Everything that they couldn't replace. From there, Winter worked quickly. He opened the panel for the light switch by the front door, tampering with the wires so that they'd spark when the switch was flipped. He then rushed to the stove, and set the timer on it to start in an hour. Last but not least, he gave the heavy appliance a strong, hard yank to pull it away from the wall, and with a quick swipe of his aren knife, he cut the gas line. He then made a lap around the whole house, making sure every window and light was closed and out. One way or another, the house would detonate, and blow away anything that could be used to track him down. He placed an earwig in his ear as he bid his house one last goodbye.
"Bulgrish, I'm done over here. I've rigged the house to blow. Get moving. Peppermint will navigate you to my location." Winter then stepped into his car, looking to Arlee before looking back to everyone else. "Everyone buckled up. Good, let's go." He started the engine, and after a few seconds, the wheel's retracted as the car began to hover. He pulled back and away, before flying over his backdoor neighbors, and zooming away toward the Bridge.
"Ah, you picked a good time to appear, doctor," Krez spoke to Jessica. "I think now would be a good time to take our leave, no?"
"Yo, let's not hang here any longer than we have to. That orc is kinda spooky," Darius added.

That was it. They were out, and Winter gave him the okay to go. To be frank, leaving was starting to sound like a good idea.
"My work's done here," said the orc. "Sorry for the threats of violence. You guys can shoot each other to shit now."
The mech turned around and made a massive leap across one of the nearby, shabby houses, removing it from Krez and the necromancers' immediate view. After landing on the ground, it ran at full speed to the northwest. Bulgrish needed to clear the vicinity before that house exploded. Winter neglected to inform him of the estimated blast radius of the explosion (something he did all-too-often back when they worked together), meaning that he had to get as far away as possible just to be safe.

[you're a chode, not giving this thread a proper ending. You got Jessica in the streets, I have Peppermint in a van, angry necromancers, there's more to be said. I'll end it properly tomorrow when my brain is working.]
