-Lea-
"... Well I don't know until I try. I would rather not drink all my food through a straw though." The prospect of that... kinda scared her, actually. It was more than a little de-humanizing, honestly.
"Er, can you leave something whole so I can find out if that's the case? I mean... I may as well give it a shot. I am kinda...." Lea looked at her arms, and let them fall to her sides. What was she even thinking at this point? As she promptly lost her train of thought, another occurred to her; Kross had fused her with some sort sort of... demon slime, hadn't he? Did... that make her a demon now too? It was... a thought, at any rate.

Raiga couldn't help but note the uncertainty in Lea's voice as he cooked. He knew that she was still struggling to adjust to her new body, but there was something more he could sense. A hint of doubt in herself. "What is wrong, Lea? There is no need to be bashful. I will listen to your concerns." Lea could notice him slowing his pace and lowering the flame on the stove. Though he was still cooking food, it was clear that he was devoting more attention to Lea.

Thinking it was one thing, but articulating it was something else entirely. How could she just com out and say this out loud?
"Uh... well.. I was just thinking." She was stalling now. Blatantly. She didn't want to say it immediately, because it was something she was becoming increasingly convinced of. This body of hers was barely human. The only thing human about her was her... mind. That was it.
"... what if I'm dangerous to people around me now?" It was a very real possibility. Not only was she probably a demon, she had been injected with a normally lethal chemical combination, survived it... and she had no way of knowing whether or not her body would have the same effect on other people.
"... is there even a way we can find out?"

It was at these words that Raiga lowered the flame down to the lowest setting, and turned to face Lea. He placed that reassuring hand once again on her shoulder, and rubbed it gently. "You've come into contact with enough people to deduce the answer to a degree. But allow me to affirm it. Placing my hand on your shoulder right now, I sense no danger of your body permeating, digesting or in anyway changing my hand." Raiga gave her the slightest curve of a smile before turning around to resume cooking. "Of course, I would caution against allowing people to eat you, but truthfully, how is that any different from before?"

Okay, yeah. He... had a point. There was no way she was just going to let people ingest a part of her, so...
"Yeah... yeah, I guess that makes enough sense." Lea smiled downward, thinking out loud, "Suppose I had better have a doctor look at me at some point... though I don't know if it would do any good." Lea still didn't think it felt real; just a day or two ago, as far as she knew, she had been flesh and blood. And now she wasn't, just like that. And honestly... there wasn't much she could do but accept it for what it was.
"... gotta admit though, I might be some freaky slime thing now, but at least I'll never have to worry about sinus problems again." Actually, there were alot of medical annoyances she would never have to worry about again. Lea's golden eyes fell on the food Raiga was cooking, and she grinned ever so slightly.
"Though, I already figured something fun out. I can focus by senses in one spot, just like I do with my eyes. Smells good by the way."

"Thank you," Raiga replied. It was all almost done. "I'm glad that you have started to think more positively," he added. "Whether or not you are human now should not be your concern. What matters is that you are still "Lea Zeal." Think not of what you lost, but what you have gained. And when you have the strength to live, that is when you may reflect upon the dearly departed, and honor their passing with your vivacity."
The drumming of the shower finally ended, and Solala was quick to dry and dress herself, humming along as she dried her silky black hair. She dressed in her professional attire and exited the bathroom to the pleasant smell of breakfast. However, when she entered the living room and the open kitchen, she found not Malik behind the stove, but Raiga no Kyuu.
"Just in time," the old man said to her. It was then that Solala realized she had never seen Raiga's face before. It was odd. His face wasn't visually displeasing, but it still struck her as odd somehow. She couldn't put her finger on it. Raiga then separated the food on the stove into portions, and made a plate for himself, Lea, and Solala, leaving the rest for Malik. Eggs, sausage, bacon, and hand-made hash browns. He had diced most of Lea's meat for her, but left two sausages whole for her to try. After placing the plates on the dinner table, he combed the cabinets for a blender, and began to cut some bananas and strawberries. After placing it all in the blender, he added some milk, and made two servings worth of smoothies. Solala couldn't help but be impressed. She remembered back to when she first met him. She thought he was either a gang member, or just some weird vagrant. But this... she had never expected anything like this out of the eccentric masked man. She couldn't help but smile. She slithered to the table and sat down, waiting for Lea and Raiga to join her before beginning her meal.

"Oh wow, a flair for presentation. I... uh... I'm impressed. Wow. This is... really different, and.... oh lord." The moment she sat down, Lea kinda melted around her chair, pieces of her dripping and pooling around it.
"A-Ah... uhm yeah. Well, time to answer one of my questions..." Lea cut a large piece of sausage, and popped it into her mouth. And, for a moment, it kinda just... floated in her head.
"Oh wow, I can definitely taste it, but..." The next moment, the piece of sausage dissolved away rapidly inside of her, until none of it remained. Lea would be blushing if she was still human. Even then, the embarrassment was written on her face.
"Y-Yeah, I'll cut stuff up small from now on. I imagine that was kinda... ick." As soon as she said that, Lea felt a small rumble that quickly vanished. It raised an eyebrow, but she didn't dwell on it for more than a moment.
-Eternity-
"....?" There weren't any actual words conveyed to Raiga. Just a sense of confusion. It was as if Eternity itself didn't quite know what it had just felt.

The quaint house was in view. The lights were on, and he could hear voices through one of the open windows. He was certain that the others were awake and about now.
Yuro led Elen to the front door, fished through the keys in his pocket and found the right one to unlock it. He opened it up and let his presence be known to the other residents.
"Hey guys, I'm back! I brought Elen with me! Is that alright!?"
Without waiting for a a response, he headed to the kitchen. He hadn't eaten yet, and his stomach was burning something fierce. In hindsight, it probably wasn't a good idea to go on a walk on an empty stomach.
On his way to the kitchen, he passed by the dining room, where he saw Solala, Lea and Raiga all sitting down with plates of the so-called "human breakfast" in front of them. The human breakfast was of course, eggs, bacon and sausage.
"Oh, hey guys. Mind if I help myself to some of that? I haven't eaten yet."
He then looked to Elen. He figured she'd already eaten, but it was the polite thing to offer her some in case she hadn't.
"What about you, Elen? You feeling hungr-"
As he looked to her, Yuro saw something not quite right in Elen's expression. At first, he couldn't place it. Her body language wasn't unusual; she was assuming her regular upright lady-like posture. After some careful examination, Yuro finally figured it out. Her face was pale. White as snow. And she was looking at Lea.
Aw, hell. He should have warned her about Lea.
"Uh, Elen, are you alright?"
"Hm?" the avian girl said. "Oh, I'm quite alright. If I may ask, who is this young woman? I do not believe we've met."
She was putting up a bold front. Aside from the whole skin color change, she was doing a fantastic job of hiding how unsettled he was by Lea's appearance.
"That's Lea. We went to the same school together. She...She's been through a lot, so we're taking care of her for now."
Elen's expression, while still pale, changed from its usual dignified warmth into a wide-eyed, deeply concerned gawk.
"Oh...Oh my lord..."
Elen walked up to Lea and held out her hand without hesitation.
"I am Elengala Sentreal," she said "It's a pleasure to meet you Ms. Lea."
Yuro really had to admire how hard Elen was trying to treat Lea like a normal person despite her clearly being disturbed by the slime's state of being. Still, he wasn't entirely sure if Lea would appreciate this gesture, or simply find it offensive...

Solala jumped when Yuro walked through the door. "Y-Yuro!?" She rose from her seat and slithered into the living room. "But when did you..? I thought you were still..." It was then that Solala saw the expression on Elen's face, and traced it back to Lea. Yuro explained Lea's situation faster than Solala could compose her thoughts, and she moved aside for Elen to greet the slime-girl. Raiga then placed the smoothie he made for Lea beside her plate, and sat down. He said nothing as Elen approached, and expressed only a hint of concern. It was a natural reaction, after all, and at the very least this "Elen" was doing her best to be polite. He could not fault her for that. Still, just as he sensed concern from Eternity, he felt a sudden, distant shift in the flow of the world. What could it have possibly been?

... well, that would be alot of people's reaction from now on, so she had better start getting used to it. If it was physically possible for her to sigh, she would have. Instead, she simply got up from the table, and went to shake Elen's hand.
"N-Nice to meet you, Elen." The very least she could do was try to not freak the girl out anymore than she already had...

Yuro sat down as the two shook hands, and unconsciously served some eggs onto an empty plate. Elen, on the other hand, still looked a bit sickly, but equally compassionate.
"So, how long have you known Yuro, deary? Were you classmates?...Perhaps more than classmates?"
Elen pressed her fingers to her lips as she teased. She hoped she wasn't being too brash, but she was curious. Besides, some humor would help take her mind off of Lea's obvious affliction.

Solala's shoulders slumped as Elen teased the poor slime girl, sighing a sigh of relief. At least the avian woman was as thoughtful as ever. She was glad that Yuro had a friend like her. However, she couldn't help but be a little worried that Yuro wandered around in the entertainment district without telling her. At least Yuro was lucky enough to run into Elengala, but they couldn't count on that all the time. Well, that could wait. She was somewhat surprised with how quickly Yuro sat down at the same table as Raiga. There always seemed to be at odds. Maybe that was just how good of a mood he was in. So glad that he couldn't care who he sat with. It then came to her mind that Yuro was eating what was left for Malik. She thought of saying something about it, but decided not to. If Malik wanted to be such a sleepyhead, then it was his own fault for missing breakfast.
"Hey, I have an idea!" Solala spoke up. "Why don't we go shopping after the rain clears up? Lea was just talking about needing a new wardrobe, and since Elen's here to bounce ideas off of, I can't think of a better time. What do you think?"

"No, we were just in the same grade. I barely spoke to him... or alot of people, to be honest." Thinking back, it kinda was a little pathetic how lonesome her school life had been, even now. After... it kinda seemed even more pathetic now that being turned into some sort of slime creature was what it took for people to actually notice her. Actually, come to think of it...
"... honestly, I wasn't really popular. I was just there, sorta." Lea took another bite of her breakfast, which quickly dissolved within her body. That was an odd feeling to get use to, but hey, least she could still taste what she was eating. That Raiga guy was a pretty good cook, all things considered. And then, Solala had to suggest they go shopping.
"E-Eh, I don't know if that's such a good idea, I mean, me walking around shopping for clothes like this? C-Come on, I don't think that's a very good idea..." Lea nervous took another bite of her breakfast. Yes, she had walked through town to get here, but she hadn't exactly enjoy everyone's stares either. Just because she was making progress didn't mean she was comfortable yet. She still had... quite a ways to go before she could reach that point.

"Oh Lea, don't worry about that. There'll hardly be anyone out shopping after all this rain," Solala reassured her. "Besides, with a group like ours, we'd all stand out so much you'd fit right in. Come on, it'll be fun."
"I suppose I could use the chance to stretch my legs," Raiga spoke up. "It's been a while since I last wandered about the Bridge."
"See, Raiga's coming, too. What do you say, Lea?"

"I still don't know if it's a good idea," Yuro piped up. "Multiracial adventurer groups and traveling parties are one thing. Just about everybody can recognize an ave or a human on sight. They both have history and their existence is common knowledge. But..."
Yuro was hesitant to continue. He didn't want to be so blunt, but what else could he do? There was no other way to get his point across.
"...But we're talking about a girl made of slime. I've never read about any civilization or culture comprised of slime people before. Lea, I know you're not a monster, but I can tell you that there will be a lot of people who'll think you are. What's worse is that everyone, me included, is still edgy from the attack. They might panic."
Elen was quite shocked at how direct Yuro was being about the issue, but he had a point. Even though Lea was legally protected under the laws of Grand Divide, this was still an inopportune time to expose her to the public eye.
"I'm afraid I must agree with Yuro on this. This is hardly the time for one with your...'structure' to risk ridicule from the average commoner. You should at least ensure that you are well protected....Solala, correct me if I'm wrong, but you could technically act as her legal agent, could you not? You could ensure others of her legal residency here. And I'm certain Mr. Raiga would make a wonderful bodyguard."
