"Well, too bad," Boey stated flatly with a shrug. "My truck's done for, so that means we're gonna have to walk until we can find a passing driver who's willing to give us a ride."
Boey moved past the Sojourner, following the side of the road. He gestured the outsider to follow him as he walked a brisk, constant pace. The heat and lack of humidity didn't bother him in the slightest. Judging from the fact that the Sojourner didn't complain about feeling exhausted in spite of having been walking for three whole days, he doubted she would have much problem either.
Expecting to find her right behind him, Boey looked over his shoulder. Regardless of her distance in relation to him, he examined her form. She was properly clothed now, but even underneath the layers of cloth, she appeared fit and limber. It was the way she moved; her gait was both refined and smooth. This brought Boey's thoughts back to who she was.
Now that he'd made it clear where they needed to go, and that he no longer held any hostility toward her, he felt less obligated to be reserved towards her. Still, he didn't know how much she or her 'kind' valued concepts like privacy, so he decided to tread lightly as he questioned her.
"If you don't mind me asking, sweetheart, just what exactly are you? You don't look like anything that belongs in these parts. Minus the horns. There's plenty of things here that have horns."

Truthfully, the only thing that actually bothered Sojourner about walking was the fact that it was slow and would take some time. But her ally was right, they had no faster method of transportation at this time and would have to simply hope someone else would come along and offer aid.
"I already told you what I am." She responded, glancing towards Boey with one eye as she walked alongside him. "Though not entirely. I am from a completely different realm. This world is unfamiliar to me save for its languages and certain customs, which I learned from one of the first people I encountered here. In my land I was the leader of a tribe of my people. I used to be the queen of my entire species..."
She paused for a moment, a grimace upon her face showing she was looking back at distasteful memories. "Things changed and we became divided. I was in the middle of guiding my people to a new homeland when I was dragged to this realm."
Sojourner looked at her hands now, as if examining her human form. "But if you were asking more about what kind of creature I am, instead of my history, then let me answer that too. I may be similar to you humans in some aspects appearance-wise but, as you saw before when I was not disguised, there are quite a few differences. One of the main ones cannot be seen from my surface, however. Humans have blood that flows through their veins, pumped by a heart and sent throughout the body to deliver oxygen and various other things. My blood is essentially energy, which serves as the catalyst for most of my functions. It is based on a type of recycling, allowing me to go on for long periods of time without the essential things human bodies need, such as food and sleep. But it does get used up in time. Miniscule amounts are used whenever I move, whenever I speak, whenever I use my body in any way. Yet I can expel said energy in various forms, such as the large arms you saw when I was fighting. Whenever I do things such as that is when larger amounts of my energy, my life force if you will, are drained. So long as I do not fire the energy away from me and reabsorb it after use though, I should be fine for some time."
The dark-skinned woman smiled and chuckled quietly. "Those are the differences without me touching upon our society norms and mating ways. Those are for another time."

"Yeah, because I'm just dying to know how you bug-people bump uglies."
It's not that she was unattractive. Far from it, in fact. It was her proportions that really turned Boey off. Those hands, for one. And those abs of hers! He was all for strong women, but that was a just a bit too much for his tastes.
"So, when you say you were queen, do you mean-"
Boey stopped himself as he eyed something off in the horizon. A slowly encroaching red blur became more and more visible as they continued to travel down the road.
"A car!" he shouted as he pointed to it. "Quick, Soujy, stick your thumb in the air!" Boey produced the classic, well known 'hitchhiker's signal.' "Like this!"
He looked to Soujourner expectantly.
