Welcome to the Kyril Q&A FAQ. Because there's ALOT of background info in my head about Kyril, and I honestly can't remember it all in one go... or two... or three, then you can ask questions here regarding.... pretty much whatever.
Q. what is Malen's attitude toward vampires?
A. Conditionally friendly, in that they do not assault a human being within Malen's borders. There is definite tension from them being around humans, but the population is normally small and manageable.
Q. are there precautions set in place to protect humans from vampires?
A. Yes, roughly anywhere from 15-25% of the human blood gathered from blood drives goes to the relatively small vampire population, this amount varying depending on the amount of blood given, and the demand for it in Malen hospitals. Vampires that do not agree to, or break these terms are turned away.
Q. and do vampire under go prosecution for turning people into vampires?
A. Almost always, except in extremely rare cases where it has become the only option to save a human's life.
Q. also, can vampires reproduce, or can they only turn people into vampires?
A. Vampires cannot reproduce period. Not with humans, super humans, or their own kind. However, the law has been skewed so badly throughout Kyril since vampires first appeared that only Arkus prosecutes anymore; no one else wants to bother.
Q. finally, are arachnes prohibited from anywhere?
A. No; while they have a somewhat bad reputation for the entire Necromancer thing, arachne are not explicitly barred from Grand Divide, Malen, or Argenon.
Q.How common are interspecies marriages?
A. On average, they are quite uncommon but accepted everywhere but Devoid and Edge City (this obviously doesn't include crazy fantastic racism). They make up almost half of all marriages in Malen and Argenon. Perhaps even more than half depending on the year.
Q....and how do the children of such couples turn out?
A. In some cases, races cannot reproduce with other races. Arachne have a unique genetic code that automatically asserts dominance in any relationship, and vampires and undead flat out cannot reproduce.
Q. Are they a mishmash of both parents, or do certain species hold genetic dominance, with a few superfluous traits passed on from the recessive parent?
A. Depends on the child and marriage. Beastkin have several dominant traits in such a relationship, as do aves, lamia and arachne. Super Humans are automatically recessive, meaning it takes two to concieve another with no chance involved. Demons are mostly mixed.
Q. What is the known information on the surface world below Kyril at the moment?
A. Beyond the fact that everything down there was wiped clean at one point, its all mostly wasteland. Kinda like Mars, except with eroded abandoned cities and stuff. And not red.
Q. And has anyone ever come back from being down there?
A. No. Search teams all seem to vanish, no matter who sends them. Devoid and Edge City actually both agreed with each other that it was a waste of manpower and natural resources long ago, and it has since been abandoned.
Q. Also, it says there's no prejudice between Super Humans and Humans, but could you elaborate on that further? Maybe some specific Super Humans might have some feelings of superiority, correct?
A. I suppose I misspoke a bit on that, and should amend it.... There is no prejudice between them in Devoid, and only then because it had to be made a law. Elsewhere, there are spots of it for certain.
Q. If Arens are a specific strain of super humans, are they subject to vampirism?
A. No. Arens diverged from the Super Human line a very long time ago, enough so that their body is incompatible with vampire's blood.
