Tael's eyes passed over the market that he had seen so often these past years, his gaze passing over the usual goods, foods, and other nonsense that had defined one of the more poor markets of Silverheim, his face showing his disdain as he sighed, rifling through his pockets for the note that Elesia had given him. A dozen eggs, a pound of beef, and some strawberries and grapes.... as well as some steel polisher for her knives. In other words, Tael Whitemane, prince of Jin and one of the killers of Enigma, was grocery shopping for the household in which they lived. He sighed, resisting the urge to crumple the list and just turn home, but an image of a harsh blizzard chasing him out of the house suddenly appeared in his mind, and with a grimace, he forced himself onward. Sighing, he remembered the past days when he had switched this dreaded duty with Tsuki, who had taken turns going before Tsuki had moved out of the house. He had insisted on buying his own household, he hadn't told Tael, but the prince could tell that he was guilty about him paying for housing for both Tsuki and his newfound sister, Hinode... although he admitted he enjoyed their time in the small house, his guilt and sense of responsibility had taken over in the end.
"A dozen eggs please." The prince read off the list slowly, glancing at the rather suspiciously looking salesman who looked much too enthused about getting a customer then he should have been. Raising his eyebrow as the man reached into a freezer magically kept cold with a rather neat ice spell Elesia would have enjoyed seeing, he pulled out his wallet, cursing as he glanced at its contents. He had lent some money to Marina earlier for some new contacts... unfortunately, he barely had enough for one dozen eggs. You would think one of the slayers of Enigma would have a nicer lifestyle... but, he sighed, he shouldn't be greedy. The people of Silverheim were kind enough to give the two a house for their deeds... it was small, but well furnished, and they didn't have to pay any bills of any sort for it. It was entirely paid for by the city. It was a nice gesture, but he somehow wished that he had a way to get more money....

A familiar man in a black cloak walked up behind Tael, placing a hand on his shoulder and waving a black and red wallet in front of him, the cloaked man's chains clanging softly as he laughed.
"Really now, Tael? One of the guys who helped beat the shit out of Enimga doesn't have money to get more than a few eggs? What the hell man."
He placed his wallet on the counter and pointed at himself with his thumb.
"Guess I'll help cover you. What else do you need?"

"T-Tch... come on now! You really think the former prince of Jin doesn't have enough money for eggs?!" Tael laughed with a weak grin, attempting to make up for his lack of money with extra bravado. Unfortunately, seconds later, his will completely collapsed, the prince's form slumping slightly as he sighed, slapping the shoulder of one of his best friends. Putting his wallet in his pocket, the prince slid the man a note with a defeated expression on his face.
"...Yeah, thanks Carl. Ignore the last part."
Elesia's Note:
-Dozen Eggs -Pound of beef -Strawberries -Grapes -Steel Polisher -An Arrow Quiver -Iced Coffee
PS: Prince, if you leave out the iced coffee, then instead I will ice you instead.

Vydunas approached the rest of the group without any recollection who any of these adventurers are. Enigma? Tael? These all seemed like foreign names to him. The wolfen didn't really sweat it as he picked up a pack of gum and some pork chops, putting it in his basket and waiting in line for the people in front of him to finish.
"Y'all from these parts? You don't sound familiar." Vydunas asked as he put the items in his cart, resting an arm behind his head to loosen himself a bit.

Carl patted Tael on the shoulder and smiled.
"There we go, swallow that pride Tael."
He placed a finger on the list as he mentally read it, his finger ignoring Tael's last statement as it stopped at the bottom sentence.
"...Goddamn, man. Elesia's STILL an iced coffee addict? That's...if she wasn't so crazy you could probably use that to your advantage."
The undead man quickly cleared his throat, deciding to change topics. He picked his wallet up and took out several dollar bills from it, holding them out in front of his friend.
"I'mma just give you fifty dollars since I don't know how much a damned arrow quiver costs"
Carl's attention was grabbed by an unfamiliar voice from behind. He quickly turned around, seeing a man with...wolf ears? Maybe he was a half-demon like Yarashii.
"Huh? I'm surprised you don't at least recognize Tael here. Everyone in Silverheim should know who he is after what he and the others did."

Vydunas was confused. Tael? Silverheim? He'd never heard of any of these places before. And the quivering prince sure didn't seem that legendary, but then again, neither did Treia. Vydunas dismissed any initial judgments and realized it was better to be humble as he was towards every aspect of life.
The wolfen nervously scratched the back of his head with a sweatdrop emerging on the side of his face. "...Heh...well, man, I'm not from these parts. I don't even know where Silverheim is. I'm on vacation. My home is this giant island called Sougenmou way out east. So I'm just chilling and grabbing some food for myself before I head back to my hut."
Looking towards the prince and back at Tael, the wolfen continued to stay in the same place in line as he was engaged in conversation with the reaper looking fellow. "Feel free to tell me of your adventures though. I'm sure you guys have been places if your archer friend's got history."
Vydunas looked back at Tael, noticing how worried he looked over his money. There was no shame in humility; the wolfen himself never lived off of much money. The wolfen wasn't even sure if his currency matched with the dollar bills that they used. Exchange rates between the credit and other currencies varied, but he hadn't traveled outside of the island continent often so he was a little uneducated on the dollar in particular. He decided to give the archer 500 credits instead, holding out the credits in the form of coins and paper money for Tael.
"Light one candle, and the flame doesn't die. Happiness never decreases by being shared. Hope this helps, buddy." He said with a smile towards Tael, hoping to pacify his worry even further.

"Ha!" Carl laughed as he draped a shoulder over Tael and indicated Vydunas with his thumb. "See, we need more people like this guy. Pretty sure if half the world was like him we wouldn't even need to go around killing psychotic demon megalomaniacs." He then looked back ay the wolfen, intrigued by this...Sougenmou place.
"Huh, so I guess we both don't know about places the other knows. I've never even heard of Sougenmou. Although I guess that's not that surprising. Not like I go flying around exploring new places."
Several yards behind the group, standing near one of the aisles in the store was a woman with pale skin, red eyes, and beautiful crimson hair tied in a long ponytail. Her arms were folded and she glared at the cloaked man impatiently.
"He gets distracted so damned easily...like a child."

"It's not a big deal... it's not like I did much anyway." Tael grinned, if memory served him right, all he had done while fighting Enigma was take a hit for Elesia, then go down. Eria and Noki had done a heavy portion of the work. But, he thought absentmindedly, since neither was the type to hang around town for too long, he ended up getting most of the attention. Not that he minded of course, the prince thought with a grin.
But whoever this mysterious foreigner was, Tael started to like him immediately. "...If this is what people in your land do for strangers, just point the way!" The prince gave the wolfen an appreciative handshake as he accepted the money from both men, he had swallowed his pride long ago in the sake of staying alive. As Elesia had said, if he didn't get the items he needed, most likely, when they got back, his room would probably look like something like a blizzard. Of course, he would have to convert Carl's weird currency, but this was more then enough...
"Geez, don't flatter me too much..." Tael muttered despite a grin emerging on his face, his eyes widening suddenly as he spotted a newcomer in the aisles. Of course, he should have figured if Carl was there, then...
"...You too? What are all of you even shopping for in the first place?" Tael didn't bother greeting the stranger by name, as if already on friendly terms with her. Really, all they needed was a few more people and it would be a full party. It had been a while since they had all met up, since they were so busy with their lives...
"...U-Uhh..." The clerk in the front who had been getting items for Tael took a moment to observe all the strange people that had arrived in his shop with his eyes wide open, a finger already on a red button under the counter in case anything happened. Of course, he didn't think he would have the guts himself to press it if need be...

Carl turned around, curious as to who Tael was talking to. His red eyes widened as his original reason for coming to the store came rushing back.
"Fuuuuuck."
Suzuki quickly reached the group, pulling the cloaked man by his head out of the line. "Well, if you must know Tael...Carl and I are here because someone broke the magical refrigerator at the mansion, so for once we're actually low on food." The female demon turned her attention back to Carl, still holding his head. "But you insist on getting distracted like a child! I swear you have the attention span of a goldfish, Makkura!"
Carl laughed, seemingly unfazed by the woman's rough treatment. "Pfft, hey. It's been a while since we've seen him! Can't really blame me for coming over here to chat, right?"
Suzuki released him with a sigh of defeat. "No, I suppose not. Although I see you two have made a new friend...that was rather quick." She looked at Vydunas, her red eyes slowly moving up and down as she studied him.
"A nice looking friend too..."
Carl quickly looked at her, eyes wide.
"What? Suzuki, he's got animal ears! He's obviously part animal or something!"
"So?"
"That's freaking bestiality!"
"Not really, no."
The undead teen silently looked at the other two for help in the argument.

The wolfen was slightly flattered by Tael and Carl's surprise, but it occurred to him that he had been here before. He was an individual who mastered humility, who knew how to live independently in scarce conditions. He lived a life that preferred the exchange of ideas and goods rather than currency.
"Don't sweat it, kid. I don't really use money where I'm from, it gets in the way of beautiful things in life. I just stopped by here to grab some food for the road." vydunas answered the timid archer in a pleasant enough way to assure that there was a good atmosphere between the group at the counter.
The wolfen then turned to the hooded reaper was a little of curiosity tipping his tongue. Demon megalomaniacs? Perhaps they really had been places; why else would this hooded reaper and his archer friend be travelling together despite looking like polar opposites?
"Hahaha, do enlighten me on these demon megalomaniacs. I had to deal with a zombie outbreak in this festival town I was at not too long ago. I came by here as a vacation spot cause I heard there's lot a historical tourist attractions surroundin' the place, like sunken floating continents and schizophrenic dark knights running around with giant robots leveling whole cities. Fascinating stuff, I think." The wolfen was clearly the type to bridge gaps simultaneously with others, rather than to expect the person on the other to build the bridge for him. He enjoyed listening to others talk about their travels just as much as he liked to share some of his own.
He then turned towards the demon almost in somewhat of an abrupt manner; he did feel interrupted by her, moreso by how much she badgered Carl. The wolfen listened in and could not help but respond with light laughter. "Well now, your madame here is hitting on me. She kinda reminds me of my friend, Veronica, from back home, 'cept I hope she doesn't get sexually stimulated from the rush of battle."
The wolfen did have to conclude his thought with a furrowing brow, however. "...how do you break a magic fridge though?"

"Ugh... I forgot you guys had a mansion. I used to have a castle, you know..." Tael muttered ruefully, slight jealousy coloring his tone as he thought back to his and Elesia's house. It was cozy enough, but sometimes he wish he had a little more... space from his trusted bodyguard. Elesia was a little overbearing sometimes... but then again, he was fairly sure that Carl knew how he felt as well, the prince thought with a sigh as he observed the two argue. Man, if Tsuki were here, he would have broken them up easily...
"...Sorry, Carl. You know she has some weird fetishes." The prince muttered under his breath, trying not to have the woman overhear them.
I came by here as a vacation spot cause I heard there's lot a historical tourist attractions surroundin' the place, like sunken floating continents and schizophrenic dark knights running around with giant robots leveling whole cities.
"..." Tael scratched his head, at a loss for words as he turned to the woman and Carl. "...Should I feel guilty that we caused most of that?" He muttered to his companions, as his mind wandered back to a certain dark knight that he hadn't met in a long, long time...

Unfortunately for Tael, Suzuki had heard his little comment on her sexual preferences. She simply glared at him, her eyes glowing dimly, and responded with a simple threat.
"Careful, little prince. I may just have to 'convince' Elesia to allow me to teach you a little 'lesson'." She smiled as she said this.
Carl quickly wrapped an arm around Suzuki's waist and pulled her towards him, making her go "Ah!" in surprise, turning her face red, and pushing Tael's comment and her threatening response completely out of her mind.
"C-Carl, what are you-"
The undead teen ignored her as he responded to Vydunas, smiling because his idea seemed to have worked.
"Well, there's been quite a few of those crazy guys! We had Kon, Enigma, Krizno, Altair, and some Parmesan Cheese guy! Heard of any of them?"
Carl then pointed a finger at Tael. "Also, no, we shouldn't feel guilty that we caused most of that. We cleaned up our own messes, so it's all good!"
Suzuki was...intrigued by this 'Veronica'. She placed a finger to her lips as she thought about what the wolfen said...a woman who was sexually stimulated by fighting. That sounded rather fun. The fire demon couldn't resist smiling at this.
"This Veronica sounds interesting...I wouldn't mind meeting her one day."

..."Mansion, huh? Fancy livin'." Vydunas remarked on how ostentatious their lives seemed. If random demon hunting wasn't enough, apparently they lived in a mansion. These were fascinating strangers to say the least.
Vydunas gripped his chin with his fingers to think of something to add along to that. "I'm from the mountains and most of where I live is covered in snow, so I'm not used to anything urban, really. For some reason I got some resort hut on the side of the beach again when I came here, it's nice cause it kinda reminds me of home in some ways. Coastline past the mountains and all."
The discourse between Carl, Tael, and Suzuki was amusing to Vydunas, to say the least. He kept a consistent smile on his face from the entertainment he got from the group, whose casual bickering suggested that they had been together for years on end. He listened carefully to Carl's summary of their adventures, confused and entertained somewhat by some of the names he heard. He then shook his head towards most of the names he heard. "Nope. Doesn't ring a bell, man. And Parmasean Cheese...?" The last name must've been wrong somehow, unless the group really did fight an evil mage who cursed the group with dairy products.
The wolfen then turned towards Veronica and chuckled again at her interest. "Y'know, I kinda wish she was here. You'd make good friends with her. She's the kind of person I got respect for, doesn't take shit from anyone and lives for battle. I like it when people keep it real. I think she was last looking for some doctor to figure out her demon origins or something like that."

"W-What did you just say?" Tael's eyes widened as Suzuki spoke, the mere mention of Elesia's name seeming to bring fear into the young prince as he quivered lightly. He was completely ready to apologize and kneel down, but thankfully, Carl's last minute save had done the trick. Ah, a nice maneuver, Carl. Perfect timing and accuracy, it seemed to have had the desired effect and more. Nodding in appreciation to his longtime friend, the prince turned to Vydunas, a quizzical and somewhat apprehensive look on his face. "H-Hey now, a woman that gets like that off fighting... no offense, but your island sounds kinda weird." He muttered, then again, trying hard to avoid looking at Suzuki again, they probably had worse over here...
"Hey, hey, Inner, is this the right place? These grocery stores all look the same over in this continent."
(Truly, are you doubting me? Of course this is the place.)
"Hmm... I-I don't know about that..." Suddenly, an odd looking priest in tattered robes and a gargantuan sword walked in the grocery shop, stumbling around for a bit before erupting in the most massive coughing attack Tael had ever heard in his life.
"...Hey, should we help that guy? He looks pretty bad..." Tael muttered, watching the poor priest flop around for a bit before finally crashing into another passerby's cart and flying down to the floor helplessly.
"..."

"What the hell, you stupid priest..." A woman wearing a black and red dress with pale skin, long black hair, black eyeliner, and bright green eyes walked in after the poor coughing priest. She grabbed his arm and pulled him up, draping his arm over her shoulders as a way to help him stand.
"I swear you are so bloody troublesome. I should cut off that man's head for suggesting I come with you."
