Me and SRK had originally worked on this for the lulz, but not only is it fun enough to mess around with more when we have free time, we've come up with a decent amount of stuff in a few days. Screens below. If you want to help, I have RPG Maker VX Ace, the program we're using, on a sendspace link, just ask. I was/am fairly inexperienced with this too, but its not hard to learn, so we can all fawk around with this thing if you guys want.
Balancing ________________________________________
-Hellblaze armor possible to purchase, too powerful. -Arena too difficult. -Character balance -Vydunas is too strong, damage output, no delay attacks, fast healing, moves 2-3 times more than everyone else (lower attack) -Veronica's Shattered Psyche needs heavy nerf -Grant needs a buff, low HP, low damage output (look at damage formulas) -Kali could use some more offense, she can tank/debuff, but not much else -Priscilla might need more original skills that aren't Monster Skills... look at stats again? SLVR: Gave her an original skill where she uses crystal spikes from her body as projectiles for moderate damage and a chance for bleed ailment. Testing now to see if it's overpowered. Also gave her a weapon unique to her (Crystal Fists, Prisiclla's hands simply covered in spiky crystals) that just increases her ATK and M.ATK by a percentage, making the weapons improve alongside her as she levels up. Makes sense since her weapons are her hands. -Elaina is fairly balanced, although Creator Siren is a really strong healing spell later with little costs SLVR: Raised cost from 120 to 150 for now. At least until we figure out how to make it only usable with Max in the party. -Max's Quick might need a nerf, healing skills might need to be reevaluated -Maximum MP might be too high (raise MP Costs of skills?) -Number of zombies needed to progress the story (10 atm), might be too high, lower? SLVR: In my opinion, it's fine. Managed it pretty well since the zombies aren't in groups of more than three.
-Starting armor is too good. Lower the quality. Change brigandines found in chests/drawers to adventurer's garb, maybe one brigandine only. Suzuki's shop sells brigandine's, probably remove those as well. Better to start low and work your way up. -Move Carl fight to bar -Add sparse weapons throughout the game?

-Carl quest triggers again after completion, look at switches and conditions. -Fix switches in Zombie Arena
-Vydunas move route is incorrect at zombie invasion, stops moving

I removed all the pictures so no one is scared of entering this thread and having their internet crash on them (Y) Feel free to treat this like a work-thread, for bug-fixes and future plans and stuff like that. OH GOD SRK WHAT DID YOU DOOOOOOOOO?!?! All of our work and hours finally culminated in a swarm of JisuisAss.png portraits Good work team. EDIT: Bug Report- If you take a break in the arena and finish the side-quest, it'll launch HurryYourAssUp (between this and JisuisAss.png, I hate to think what others would think of this) common event, and then loop back into the battle. Have not fixed yet.

HUZZAH CHANGE LOG
8/7/12 Balance: -Ravenous Wind Dirge down to 2 attacks instead of one, damage nerfed -Deadening Gale got nerfed the shit out of -Death Spiral buffed -Chain Healing variance lowered again, it will now do reliable healing per bounce -Quick replaces Max's White Haste, which will probably be exclusive to bosses, Quick lets you move twice after cast -Libra/High Libra include more status now -Faith grants magic defense instead of magic evasion, only lasts until your next move; TP cost reduced -Inner full heals you now, Sekhmet's Elegy added to Inner. Elegy is a target all spell that deals hp drain, but is fairly weak -Skill levels changed around for Max -FINALLY for news not regarding my character, Max/Carl encounters in the beginning of the game have nerfed exp rates, which means you won't power level to level 6 in like two battles (D)
Gameplay: -Arena is less difficult. While the enemies are the same, Ryu fight is now optional, but beating Ryu will grant you MUCH better prizes. You can quit before fighting Ryu to retain the original prizes. Also, this was a bitch to edit in :<
New prizes - Warlord's Armor (Also grants Psycho Crusher), Silver Key, and 7500 Gold
Aesthetics: -Replaced icons for Max's spells with newer icons -New animations to Deadening Gale, Death Spiral, Curse of Sekhmet
Basically all I did was tweak Max (h)

Change Log
8/9/12 Aesthetics: - Made new animation for Elaina's Blaster Siren. - Made new animation for Elaina's Destroyer Siren. - Adjusted animation for Elaina's Breaker Siren. - Adjusted animation for Elaina's Celestial Wings.
Balance: - Breaker Siren now only hits twice, but ignores defense since it's supposed to be a piercing attack. - Gave Elaina a new skill: Angel's Might. Increases an ally's agility and gives their attacks holy damage, as well as increases their attack by 10%, for 4 turns. - Gave Elaina a new skill: Angel's Shield. Reduces dark damage to an ally by 50% for 3 turns.
Future Changes: - Gonna try to give her a skill that will revive an ally when they die once. It'll probably revive them to 20% HP. Similar to the skill "Safety" from Xenosaga.

Change LogI did so much shit today :< So I'm just gonna combine it all into a big paragraph -Transition has finally been added to the Zombie Invasion. This is triggered by finishing the Arena sidequest and meeting Max/Kali. After talking to Vydunas/Veronica on their respective modes, it now cuts out to the West Plaza, West Plaza Continued, South Plaza, and East Plaza with lovely images of people getting their shit fucked up by zombies, and dead bodies everywhere. After this transition, it will transport you to the Zombie Plaza map, where Vydunas will take the East Route, and Veronica will take the West Route. Both Routes have the same amount of zombies, although Veronica has an easier route, Vydunas gets two party members instead of Veronica's one. Zombies have been added all over both routes. The event chasing script has been added, if these zombies touch the player, a battle will initiate. A counter has been added to the zombie invasion. The counter adds by one each time a zombie is defeated, although an exception occurs with the Rescue Carl sidequest, which nets you three zombie points. If the counter hits 10 in either route, then Veronica/Vydunas will state that they have done enough, and that it is time to regroup at the plaza. Further balancing may be needed on these routes, and if all points possible/a certain amount of points are obtained, the title "Zombie Slayer" will be given (still not sure if I want to implement that last part). While gaining Priscilla has not been finished in Veronica's route, Vydunas has a special cutscene in the East route where he finds Max/Kali/Fortune Teller surrounded by zombies. Fortune Teller kicks ass for two battles until he disappears for no reason ( ) and Vydunas rescues the two, who help him defeat the zombies in that route. Something similar will be done for Priscilla. Both cutscenes are not completed yet. -Oh, and I gave dialogue to the kids and old lady upstairs in Tetsu's Bar : D "Whenever I talk to Mr.Tetsu, he always gives me a piece of bread! He's really nice." Too bad they're fucked when the stairs collapse... That is all for today : D WHAT'S LEFT TO DO: -Cutscene for Kali/Max almost finished -Cutscene for Priscilla -Regrouping Scene is complete, but I didn't add in Kali/Max/Priscilla to the dialogue -Boss can easily be implemented -Afterwards, cutscene cutting to a hotel will need to be done, and we'll need to confer on how to approach what to do next in the RPG -I should probably finish Priscilla (h) Basically, Zombie Invasion is 95% done. Both Routes have the same amount of zombies, although Veronica has an easier route, Vydunas gets two party members instead of Veronica's one. lol, silly Jisui : D Thinking Max actually counts as a person...bwa ha ha ha ha Oh and I just tried to switch the transitions around, but I think you messed up the move route for whoever takes the opposing end of the leading character since they end up moving for a bit, and then moving up to bump into a wall. You may want to check that out later, it's not too hard to fix though Other than that, good job bish

Nvm I just fixed the move route for Veronica myself. I'm not even sure how you measured it because somehow the move route was really messed up and Veronica would freeze(along with the game) at like every corner but it's fine now

So, surprisingly, lately, I had some free time and was pretty bored. I decided to tinker with the RPG a bit then, and made the "Priscilla Boss Challenge" for anyone who has some time to kill : D
Priscilla as a boss: -Has a monster only skill learned through Blue Magic called "Nox" that has a low percent chance of hitting, but inflicts both sleep and silence if hit. Priscilla likes using this along with "Poison Cloud", which has a chance of poisoning the party. -Has one skill from each of the main party members (keeping with her blue magic shtick), along with her own skills. The respective skills are Deadening Gale, Lupine Bloodmoon, Inky Beam, Alchemical Grenade, Crimson Cage and Blaster Siren. -Has her default character attributes, and as such, is immune to all status, takes 80% damage from physical attacks, and regenerates 3% HP per turn. She also has a 10% chance of inflicting poison through her normal attacks.
Challenge: Any character setup, recommended to be level 60+. Any equipment may be used. Level 60 may be impossible, level 99 might be a bit too easy, although it'll still take a bit.

So, I was doing a playthrough of the RPG and...well...
I ran into the same Blue Magic error you get when you defeat Elesia, except it happened when I was killed by enraged Carl. The fight that happens when you talk to him too much after he beats you the first time.
I'll look at the triggers for the zombie invasion Carl quest later tonight.
