"If you think I'm in the business for the fame or the money, you better check your head. I fight because it's the only thing I'm good at. It's the only thing I was ever MEANT to be good at. And just so we're clear, it's not a fact I'm happy with."
Pilot Name: Kugashira Kisuke
Pilot Age: 32
Pilot Race: Julahn
Pilot Appearance: Standing at 6’3’’, Kisuke is a fit, if pale, man with stern, violet eyes. His long black hair is often pulled back into a ponytail with silvery streaks. Though his attire varies at times, he is most often seen wearing a gray hakama over leather boots, a black athletic tanktop partly obscured by a blue long sleeve jacket, and leather half-gloves. However, if one were to catch a glimpse of him without his shirt, one would notice socket-like holes lined with metal rings running along his arms to the back of his knuckles, and up his spine to the base of his neck.
Pilot Personality: An accomplished mercenary, Kisuke is an experienced soldier and a highly capable pilot. Having survived many encounters over the years, he has shed what sense of honor and fairplay he once had when he first started. Sentimentalities hold no meaning in war, and so are absent from Kisuke’s person. Instead, Kisuke has only one thing on his mind when he engages combat; the fulfillment of his contracts. A pragmatic and cunning operative, he will use any and all means to succeed.
His behavior in person is little different. He is blunt, and impatient with conversations. The less he speaks, the better he can detach himself from his employers. He has accumulated a number of enemies over the years, after all. The less familiar people are with him, the better his chances for survival are outside the field of battle. He holds no apparent loyalties with any particular faction, being just as likely to defend an installation one day and fire upon it the next under a different contract. His allegiance lies only with himself, and the tides of the economy.
Psyframe Designation: T27/GE - Jinkage
Psyframe Build: Gale, hominid, light weight
Psyframe Origin: Experimental
Psyframe Appearance: The Jinkage is the embodiment of Kisuke’s warrior logos. Designed specifically for high speed stealth assaults, the Jinkage’s streamlined hominid frame is incredibly light, constructed only to be stable enough to withstand atmospheric reentry and the intense G forces its engines exert on itself. Instead, the Jinkage defends itself with a plethora of stealth capabilities. It features numerous low exhaust engines around its torso, back and legs. Due to Jinkage’s light weight, its engines carry it with minimal effort, allowing it to give off a low heat signature. The Jinkage has a central engine on its back that is surrounded by four secondary engines, as well as two forward facing engines under each arm socket. Combined with the engines located on the calves of Jinkage’s blade-like legs, the Jinkage displays high mobility with a level of precision and acceleration that is rivalled by only a select few. Above the back engines is a recharge rack for four plasma blades, as well as a compartment behind each arm socket which house retractable grenade launchers and decoy dispensers. Its fin-like pauldrons have sockets for attaching missile launchers that can be purged once depleted.
The head of the Jinkage bears a passing resemblance to an ancient kabuto, with a pair of optical sensors gleaming behind a visor-like surface. If one were to watch the glow of the sensors closely, the sensors seem to exhibit eerily human-like patterns.
Weapons: As the psyframe of a mercenary, it only stands to reason that the Jinkage can be fitted with different weapons to suit a particular mission. However, the ones listed below are by far its most common.
-4 rechargeable plasma blades
-2 shoulder mounted grenade launchers
--X120 fusion grenades
--OLAL-EMP grenades
--Inflatable decoys
-Pauldron mounted B43 cluster missile launchers
-AX/223 Spitfire laser rifle
-Carbon-composite ballistic shield
Pilot Abilities:
-Veteran of the Shadows: Kisuke has been a pilot for the better portion of his life, and few are as familiar with stealth tactics as he is. As such, he can quickly recognize when stealth measures are being used against him and discern their nature.
-Tacit Understanding: Having had a number of close calls during his career, Kisuke has learned how to troubleshoot when the systems of a psyframe are compromised, and can pilot a “blinded” psyframe when needed. He can even redistribute power between engines if one is damaged or destroyed, in order to optimize flight performance in a damaged psyframe.
Psyframe Abilities:
-Cold Shadow of Death: The Jinkage is designed specifically with stealth in mind. Its low exhaust engines easily propel its incredibly light frame, and give off a low heat signature. In combat its weapons grow hotter than the Jinkage does, which causes infrared targeting systems to focus on Jinkage’s weapons attached to its extremities rather than the core of the frame. The coarse graphite gray paint scheme of the Jinkage not only serves to camouflage it at night and in space, it is a thick coat of radar-absorbent paint. For more advanced targeting systems, it has a wide array of ECMs to confuse targeting equipment. While the Jinkage is far from being completely invisible, its stealth-design features are further bolstered by its high speed and twitch mobility, thus vastly improving its survivability in combat.
-Holo-field Projectors: While it is true that pilots are reliant on targeting systems, it is natural instinct for sentient beings to believe what their eyes tell them. Holo-fields are designed with this in mind. When standing still, the edges of the Jinkage’s shape seem to blur and distort. While moving, the Jinkage appears split into multiple distorted copies. These projections are of course merely refractions of light, and while they confuse basic radar and shape based targeting systems, they do not distract sonar or infrared sensors, and increases the heat signature of the Jinkage. It is a measure to be activated after enemy sensors have been compromised.
-Synonymity: The Jinkage exhibits frightening reaction times, the eeriness of which is compounded by the seemingly organic movement of the Jinkage's optical sensors. The truth behind the Jinkage's strikingly fluid movements is equally disturbing, if not more so. A peek inside the cockpit of the Jinkage reveals an apparatus more inline with the cockpit of a fighter jet than an ordinary psyframe. Surrounding the seat from head to toe, however, are needle-like plugs which betray the true nature of this psyframe's absurd capabilities; the plugs of the cockpit align perfectly with the sockets lining Kisuke's body. The near-instant reaction speeds of the Jinkage are due to its control apparatus being physically linked directly to Kisuke's nervous system. The difference between eye response and interface input is almost completely eliminated by the virtue of Kisuke's own central nervous system being the interface itself. There are no monitors for Kisuke to view inside the cockpit, for he quite literally sees through the eyes of the Jinkage. All sensory data concerning the Jinkage's status is sent directly to Kisuke's brain. This radical approach to piloting a psyframe is what allows the Jinkage to outperform virtually all other psyframes past and present on the grounds of brain-input-to-action-output.
Items: A knife, and a semi-automatic ballistic handgun. Primitive, yet still effective against the unarmored.
Story (WIP): Little is known of Kugashira Kisuke's past. Even the name "Kugashira Kisuke" is but an alias. What is certain, however, is that Kisuke was formerly a psyframe pilot of the Kergal Empire, bred and grown for combat. Birthed and raised for the sole purpose of piloting a psyframe, he would have never questioned his own existence had it not been for a chance encounter with a certain man. The outpost
