Easily the hardest thing to get out the way but without it this game would suck.
Important characters are bolded. Important fights are in green. Possible arcs are in blue
Anyhow, at the beginning of this particular game you are a thief preparing to make one of your biggest scores until it goes a bit awry. After evading the guards you find your self at the top of the castle where some troops await you, you then fight them till the point where you trick them and jump off the roof of the castle.
After escaping Angenehm castle you find my self with a higher bounty and another reason to run.
You then make your way back to your home town
Anfang:
It's a literal town. farming type. in which all people there are oblivious to my deeds. until Kamon
tracks you down, but before that the village chief asks you to find a item for him. which would require
you to go fight more enemies out side of town. once finished you talk to him and go home
where Kamon then comes to town, hes been tracing you for years, and once he finds out where you are he burns
down the town to get to you, you give him some small talk and run off. You escape into a forest, in which you think your safe and you spend the night there. the next day you know you have to escape. *normal enemy encounters here*
Forest:
After about 8-9 maps of forest you find a exit. you also find Kamon.
Enemy battle: Kamon. After you defeat him you walk off and he says some stuff off screen.
End of first chapter
chapter 2: Let me decide!
(This is where the game makes its first forked road)
*Insert cut scene here* You arrive at Hafen city. Whilst you think to your self about your future, obviously you can still choose to be a
thief(which will usually be the neutral or the evil path) or you can decide to finally change your way and become good. Either way
from here you can buy new weapons and armor. There's also a bar. in this bar you can find the first of 3 paths you can take.
Evil path:You, the murderer
If you choose to help the shady looking guy out, he will ask you to come to the alley for further information. Here you find out he wants your help for a "certain" task which he paints as if he was the good path. Since you've take then path you will agree to it. His name is Bishop. This specific mission sounds like a liberation from a evil ruler, when its quite the opposite. Upon boarding his ship you set sail for this island kingdom. However, you are preempted by the navy of said kingdom and you must fight them all off. Upon landing on the island Bishop tells the citizens that he is going to free their town and asks to be escorted to the kingdom. He then tells you to follow the instructions that his henchmen will provide.
Halfway to the castle Bishop kills off all of the people with him and continues on his own to the castle through the mountain pass. While you venture through this mountain path you begin to notice strange activities by Bishop's men, it ends up being something you refuse to shake off.
You arrive later on and hes there waiting for you, he's taken out a few of the soldiers saying they killed the people with him. You and Bishop then begin fighting off soldiers things up until you get to the king himself.
Enemy Battle: The King
After taking over as planned, you are betrayed by Bishop and you fight him
Enemy battle: Bishop[/b].
Upon winning he appears to die but then suddenly vanishes anyway, you are then jailed for your role in the assassination. While in jail you trick the guard and get his keys, from there you knock him out to take his guard outfit. Just when you think you've made it out, Kamon shows up and easily sees past your disguise, but he waits till you walk out of the castle before he challenges you on the bridge thus the second battle with Kamon ensues.
Enemy Battle: Kamon .
After beating him you make a run for it in his boat. From this point you get to use a boat.
CHAPTER END
Neutral Path:Business as usual
In the same bar as the path above you overhear the argument but instead do not intervene. You simply board the ship secretly with General Halbred.
After arriving on the island since people are missing or dead, feel free to loot the place. After wards you make your way to the castle where you'll find most of the soldiers are too busy fighting to notice you. Looks like it's time for some espionage.
You make your way to the treasury where you see it is still guarded. At this point you have to get the goods without getting caught. The first two rooms you just fight the guards and they are very well armed. The third room is instant game over if you're caught.
Upon getting everything worth getting out. You find General Halbred and Bishop fighting it out. You simply ignore it and keep going. However just as you make your way back toward the port town, Kamon shows up and is more than happy to see you, after exchanging wits you two duke it out
Enemy Battle: Kamon .
After defeating him you make a run for it and hide out in a near by cave(optional dungeon for other paths). You make your way through the cave till you reach a dead end and among other things, a fire spirit named Ifrit. As you can imagine he's pissed at you for waking him up. Kamonshows up again and goes his usual justice trip fueled speech before realizing that that spirit is still there. Knowing you cant take him alone you tell Kamon that you two should put your differences aside and fight him or die alone. Kamon disagrees and attempts to fight it alone, only to be defeated and finally join you.
Enemy Battle: Ifrit .
After quelling the beast it decides to spare you both and Kamon says you two have unfinished business to attend to. He says all of this while his back is turned and once he turns around you have already ran away. He gives a monologue of pissed-off-itude and runs out. Meanwhile you make it back to the port town and purchase a boat. You then make your escape off the island.
CHAPTER END
Good Path: You, the hero?
During the same bar ordeal you chose not to help Bishop and instead you meet General Halbred who informs you of what Bishop is really up to.
You follow him and board his vessel that takes you to the same island. During this time on the ship Halbred begins to tell you a little more about Bishop before you arrive. When you arrive you find the port town destroyed. You hear a small cry for help in one of the many destroyed houses and you go check it out. It is a child trapped under broken beam. If you help him out and he explains what happened. He said it was done by a man in a mask. Halbred immediately identifies it as Bishop and says there's little time before he managed to take the entire island. With that said you both head out, but not before running into one of Bishop's lackeys who says he's under direct orders to kill Halbred.
Enemy Battle: Enforcer and some other thugs
After that battle Halbred demands to know where Bishop has headed. The enforcer says hes half way to the castle by now and that you are too late. Halbred then takes him out and you both speed off. However, there is a mountain path between you and the castle that you must traverse. Which is littered with more Bishop's henchmen and thieves much like yourself.
After reaching the highest area you are once again met with one of Bishop's stronger henchmen. However, this time Halbred uses one of his unique techniques to take them all out before a battle could even commence. He briefly explains what he did and why he does not use it that often, mostly due to his old age. After that you two head out the mountain. When you arrive at the castle you discover that Bishop has not made there yet and both of you rush to the King to tell him what is about to happen. When you arrive in his main chamber you see Bishop sitting in a chair and the king lying presumably dead on the floor. Halbred immediately questions how he did this without the other guards taking notice. Bishop utters that it was nothing more than a small amount of convincing and that they joined him willingly. Halbred then rushes to attack Bishop
Enemy Battle: Bishop
Bishop falls over as if he is about to die but then states how you can never truly quell the fires of ambition and rebellion so long as people have the ability to think for themselves and how if he were in charge that "problem" would never arise. He then vanishes while laughing.
You ask where he vanished to and Halbred responds that he has no idea, but when and if he ever returns he will fight him to the death. As it turns out the king is not dead but is severely wounded, a fadeout then shows the king in bed looking as if he wont make it. However before he does die he utters that he only regrets that you did not arrive sooner. Halbred tells you to not worry about it and instead thanks you for your help. He then asks if there is anything he can do for you after asking where you will go next. You ask him for a good ship and some money, after all "Even doing the right thing has a cost, and mine is not a metaphor".
