Yu hardly reacted at all when the catgirl poked him in the chest; a blink, and a very small smile were all he needed. It was enough to know that at least some of these people were friendly. The Doctor seemed like a nice enough guy as well; only the aggressive man with the glowing eye gave Yu any source of concern.
"..." Yu's hand move quickly, catching Yarashii's tail as she poked him.
"... soft." Just as quickly as he had said that, he had already fixed his glasses back up into place, and placed both of his hands in his pockets. In his head, he was wondering whether he should be relieved, or worried that she wasn't a cosplayer. Even then, there was still something nagging at him about how he had ended up here, but currently, he'd just like to be at civilization of some sort.

Racamgi Outskirt Wasteland Outside Racamgi
The armored giant nodded in appreciation of Yuri's cooperation. "Good. Now let's head back to the truck." He snapped his fingers and all the knights turned and began heading back to the shining vehicle. The one named Shepard stayed to look at Yuri for a moment before turning and following her fellow knights.
The general sighed as he began walking as well. "Don't mind her. Shepard's just trying to keep an eye out for us. Although I get the feeling you won't be causing any trouble." He stopped moving and looked back at Yuri. "Oh yes, I completely forgot to introduce myself. I am General Veslir Orwep of the Cagmi Order." The armored giant resumed walking. "Make haste. The sooner we return, the better."
The truck had four doors on each side. The driver of the vehicle was Shepard while another knight sat in the passenger's seat. Three rows of seats were behind them. The first two had three knights in each, while the last row was empty. Obviously, this was meant for Veslir and Yuri.
The giant opened the last door and stepped into the vehicle, making it briefly sink towards the ground due to his tremendous wait. He sat on the far side of the row, giving Yuri plenty of room. As he waited, he pressed a button on his gauntlet and spoke into it. It was obviously a communicator of some kind.
"This is General Orwep to all Cagmi Order knights. We've located the one who was in the center of that energy spike. He is not hostile and is just as confused as we are. If any others appear in the same fashion, do not, I repeat, do not attack them unless they show signs of hostility." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Racamgi City Square
The city of Racamgi was beautiful, especially when taking the state of the outside world into consideration. Like all the city-states in this world, it was surrounded by a 100-foot tall wall of metal, with two large gates at the center of the northern, southern, eastern, and western walls. Each gate was guarded by three knights in front, four on the towers above it, and three more on the inside.
The architecture of the city was an odd blend of feudal japan and late medieval Europe. The majority of the buildings had slanted, tiled roofs, and were made of stone and metal. Most of these structures were brightly colored, while the important ones, such as the Emperor's castle and the smaller castles/mansions had much darker color schemes consisting of red, grays, blacks, and blues. Various small shops were present on the sides of the streets selling a variety of merchandise. Every single building had some sort of modern lighting whether it be signs or, the more common, thin streaking lines similar to the ones on the trucks. These lines glowed either red, blue, yellow, or green and looked as if they had energy constantly flowing through them.
The civilians of the city wore normal modern clothing and, considering the state of the planet, were relatively happy. Practically all of these people paid little, if any, attention to the two new arrivals.
A man in a black cloak walked into the center of the square, him and his friend having just gotten through the city's gates. His face was completely obscured by the shadows of his hood, while chains were wrapped around his arms and legs, dragging on the ground behind him. The girl next to him looked to be in her late teens, very early twenties at the most. Her shoulder-length hair was green, the same color as her eyes. Her skin was pale and she was a black dress with green markings on the abdomen. Her arm-length gloves were green with black stripes while her shoes were just pure black and her leggings a pure dark green.
The girl silently walked next to the grim-reaper-esque man, whose eyes were searching the surrounding area. He was aware that all the guards were looking at him. Some had even moved from their posts and began making their way towards him.
The cloaked man clicked his tongue. "Tch. Of course. Can't ever catch a break can we?"
The green-haired girl looked down at the ground, fully aware of what was coming next.
One of the knights drew their sword, pointing it at the cloaked man as he came closer.
"You're Carl Makkura, aren't you?"
"..."
"No need to answer. General Kraft of JX city sent us all the information we'd need on you. You're hereby under arrest for endangering the lives of innocent people and working alongside a demon!"

"Well, you heard the man, 'darling'." The tall woman quickly scooped the man up again, and casually jumped from the roof of the building with Johnson in her arms. Though gravity made their decent rather quick, they landed softly on the street below, as if they had only taken a tiny hop. She lowered Johnson to his feet, and stood back a bit to get a good look of who she would be following with. She was pretty eager to talk to this "Doctor" guy, and see if he knew anything about how she got here. But, that could wait from when they were in a nicer place.

Yuri strolled over to what he could only assume to be the 'truck'. The transport seemed like it was made entirely of metal and the occasional glowing stream of azure. Trying not to pay too much attention to it, Yuri stepped on board and took the seat reserved for him. As the vehicle was shifted into motion, he looked at the general. Yuri felt a little more relaxed then he did a few moments ago; he'd take this over swords pointed at his face any day.
"Alright. You said you wanted to know what a blastia is. Basically, a blastia is a solidified form of the world's energy. Different kinds of blastia do different kinds of things." Yuri lifted his left arm, to show Veslir the bangle that he wore. It was golden- with several different colored gems embedded on it. "This is a bohdi blastia. It boosts the wearer's abilities in battle. Without this thing, fighting monsters would definitely be a lot harder." He lowered his hand again, as to resume normal conversation. "Blastia come in all different shapes and size. I could go on, but I think you get what I'm saying."

"Leave them," Kazuya said, referring to the two on the roof. "The sooner we find a way to stop this nonsense, the better."
The Doctor seemed to ponder over it for a second. Though, only for literally a single single second.
"Nah, that'd just be mean," he said in response.
Once the woman on the rooftop jumped down with her newly treated patient, the Doctor decided that it was probably finally time to move on.
"Can we go now?" he asked the cat-woman.

Veslir listened intently, nodding his head in understanding. "I see...we have something similar here. However, we call them Geist Crystals. The reason for this is because, like the blastia, they are a solid form of the planet's energy. We consider this energy the 'spirit' of this world. Unfortunately, these crystals have only been recently discovered so we're not sure as to what they're capable of beyond being good energy sources." The general shook his head solemnly.
"We have more important things to worry about anyways. I told you that I would explain where you are once you explained a blastia. I'll fulfill my part now." Veslir took a deep breath and closed his eyes before continuing.
"Obviously you saw the state of this place when you arrived. It is a nearly-dead world. Two years ago this planet was beautiful. Large cities full of life, balanced by several large forests and mountain regions, also, filled with life. Like any other world though, it had its own share of enemies. Power-hungry monsters, would-be saviors driven mad by their ambitions, and more. Despite all that, life continued to thrive." The armored giant's tone became dark and heavy at this point. "That all came to an end one night...there was a psychopath named Lawrence who opened the very gates of Hell itself. This unleashed an unimaginable amount of demons into our world, resulting in the Eight Hour War. The heroes and armies of the planet quickly banded together in the face of this threat and fought against Lawrence and his demons."
Veslir stopped once again and sighed. He massaged his brow(?) as he briefly felt the emotions of that horrific event.
"We eventually fought our way to the main Gate, where Lawrence was. Three powerful superhumans fought him and managed to kill him. They then closed the gate and stopped the invasion. However, we were not quick enough...60% of humanity had fallen victim to the demons. So many came through the gates that they may as well be considered inhabitants of this world. They replaced almost all the wild animals that used to live and even a large percentage of the plants. What you see now is what remains of our world. Several cities have been rebuilt and even some new ones appeared. Communication between cities is back up, for the most part, but now each city has its own government. Each practically its own country with cultures radically different from one another. While the states and countries of the past are now just memories."
Shepard's voice came from the front of the truck, audible even through the idle chatter of the other knights.
"General...are you ok?"
"Yes. I am fine."

Yarashii shook her head at Kazuya. "This doesn't sound like a problem that's going to be solved in a few hours. You're gonna have to have some patience." She then nodded at the Doctor. "All right everyone, head to the trucks."
Johnson looked at the tall woman and nodded in thanks once again. "By the way, name's Keith Johnson." He was then interrupted by Kasshu who was already on his way back to the trucks alongside Rei.
"Keith! Hurry it up! Or would you prefer that I drive instead?"
Johnson laughed. "Dom, go ahead. I think I'll let you and Maya drive the trucks this time."
Kasshu shrugged in response. "Suit yourself. Guess I'll take Truck Alpha. Maya, you got Truck Beta?"
Rei smiled as she sat in the driver's seat of one of the trucks. "Yes, that's not a problem with me."
Yarashii went and sat in the middle of the first row in Truck Alpha, while Bon sat in the passenger seat in Truck Beta.
[[Two trucks available, each with nine seats (not counting the driver and passenger seats which are already taken) divided into three rows. Basically, three seats per row. Up to you guys which ones you take.]]

The tall woman gave Keith an approving nod before walking in the direction of the trucks. She quickly walked over to the Alpha Truck and stood the sheath of her weapon next to her as she sat next to the cat girl she saw before. She remain quiet as she held the saya, waiting for the others to arrive.

Yu closed his eyes, and as if by command, Kohryu vanished from existence above him, and he climbed into the truck. Surveying the available spots briefly, he chose to sit to the other side of Yarashii.
"It seems like this world has quite a few wonders that are only imagined in mine..." Yu then recalled just how odd the TV world could be at times, "...well, some wonders anyways."

"So that's what happened, huh..." Yuri was surprised at how much this world related to his home planet of Terca Lumereis. The Geist Crystals, how this 'Lawrance' figure came into the picture and nearly ended humanity... Should the mission back on his world, Duke could very well reenact the whole scenario. Yuri could tell that even to this day Veslir had regrets about that day. The thought of Estelle and the others crossed his mind for a moment...
"So your job is to get rid of the demons this Lawrance left behind, right? Looks like you got your work cut out for you." He said to him, his voice taking a more serious tone.

Veslir shook his head. "Not exactly. Exterminating the demons at this time is impossible. They breed far too quickly for us to keep up with, especially taking into consideration the fact that we have to keep large amounts of our forces in the cities to protect them. The demons are bent on eradicating the rest of humanity. They have had very little, if any, success though. While there are a rather small amount of cities around the globe, each one has at least a few superhuman protectors, along with its own military. For now, our primary focus is to rebuild, repopulate, and survive. Once humanity's numbers have grown...then we will wipe those creatures off our planet like the black stain they are."
The armored general leaned forward, placing his arms on his legs and his hands beneath his chin. "Oh, that reminds me...I introduced myself earlier but I suppose I have not given yourself the opportunity. It would feel rude for me to just call you 'this guy' or 'the long-haired man over there'."

The Doctor joined the rest of the folks in truck Alpha, while Kazuya decided to take the less crowded transport, and entire Truck Beta.
The Doctor observed as he watched the red-eyed man enter the truck opposite of them.
"Charming fellow, isn't he?" he said.

Yu turned his head slightly to looked at the Doctor, not entirely sure what to make of him as of yet.
"That... is certainly one word for what that man is." Yu thought back... had he ever encountered someone like that fist fighter before? No, not really. Taking his past enemies into account, Namatame had been misguided, Mitsuo had been... yeah, and the last one... no, there weren't any good comparisons.
He would just need to keep his guard up... however, something was nagging him... this world, even its ruins looked different from his world.
"... uh... Yarashii, was it?" Yu remembered the catgirl's name from before, "What happened to this place?" A tinge of worry, or maybe a tinge of pity colored Yu's words. He wasn't entirely sure what he felt about this place yet. It was... alien to him. Again, the comparison to Magatsu Inaba came to his mind.

Smart. Instead of charging into battle while clearly outmatched in terms of numbers, their tactic was to keep the demons' population down while their own increased. That way they could turn the tables on the creatures with a reformed army. Yuri could get used to the knights of this world; these guys were definitely better than the knights back home.
Veslir asked for the swordsman's name, to which he gladly obliged. "The name's Yuri. Yuri Lowell." he told him with a smirk on his face.

Veslir nodded at Yuri. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Yuri. Once we reach Racamgi we can try and find out what exactly is going on. There have been other energy spikes similar to the one that dropped you here. Perhaps those also left foreign people here."

Yarashii clicked her tongue at the Doctor's comment. "So long as he keeps that attitude in check once we reach Racamgi. We have enough stuff to deal with. A red-eyed martial artist with lightning punches and a bad attitude is definitely not something we need."
Yarashii's green eyes briefly widened at Yu's question. She looked down at the floor of the truck and sighed quietly. "I guessed that was something I'd eventually have to tell you guys." She looked in Yu's direction, her eyes focusing on the window to his side.
"Two years ago...this planet wasn't like this. It was beautiful. It had big cities that were filled with life. It had massive forests full of beautiful animals and plants. But, one night, that beauty was violated by a madman named Lawrence. He had enacted a plan, years in the making, to open the gates of Hell. There was a small group of people who had been trying to stop him during the years he was setting up his grand plan. Obviously, they couldn't stop him. The bastard opened the gates and unleashed Hell's demons upon our world. They ravaged it, killing every single kind of life they encountered. Human, animal, plant...everything."
The catgirl leaned forward, crossing over Yu's lap and absentmindedly placing her hand on the window.
"It wasn't long until all the armies and superhumans of this world banded together to fact the threat. A lot were lost in the fighting but eventually, three powerful superhumans, who happened to be part of the original group chasing Lawrence, reached the main gate. This was where the psycho himself was. They killed him and resealed the gate. But the damage had already been done... 60% of humanity was wiped out. We don't even know the percentage of the animals and plant life wiped out. But practically all the beautiful forests and cities from back then were gone. Destroyed by those damned monsters."
Yarashii pulled her hand away from the window, sitting normally and actually looking at Yu.
"The way of life from back then is dead. Now the few cities remaining are run by their own governments...have their own cultures... But..." She smiled lightly. "I've never really seen humanity so united. Despite us being so far away from one another. People are more willing to help each other than they used to be. It just goes to show that you never truly know what you have until it's gone."

Truck Alpha
The Doctor was silent for a bit. He seemed somewhat moved by Yarashii's words. The condition of this world, for some reason or another, effected him on a personal level.
"No," he finally said in response. "You really don't."
It took a bit for the Doctor's normal, enthusiastic expression to return. When it did return, there was still a bit of strain there.
----------------------------------------------------------
Truck Beta
Time passed silently as the truck moved onward. Kazuya kept his arms folded, and his eyes closed. He was contemplating his options.
On one hand, the people surrounding him were bound to get in his way at some point. They had too many morals. Too many convictions dictating their decisions. They were certain to choke when they would eventually have to run into an obstacle that required them to be ruthless.
On the other hand, this Doctor had knowledge. Knowledge that Kazuya needed to end this annoying series of events. He also likely had knowledge of how to return Kazuya to his own world once all of this was settled. At the very least, the Doctor needed to be kept alive. He was simply too useful of an asset.
Kazuya wasn't sure if the others he'd met were worthy of being kept around or not just yet. They had yet to prove their worth. They didn't seem entirely incompetent, however. Perhaps they would prove useful eventually. It was in their best interests that they did...
