Name: Basilio Larosa
Age: 24
Race: Human
Class: Duelist
Appearance:
Basilio is a dark-skinned individual with abnormally violet-colored head hair, black eyebrows, a black goatee, and bright hazel eyes. The hair is semi-long, and braided into a low ponytail. His face is fair and a bit pointy in the cheekbones, chin, nose, and jaw. He always wears a red renaissance mask even in his sleep that covers the area around his eyes and a good deal of his eyes upper face.
Basilio sports a red arabic-looking sleeveless vest over a poofy-sleeved, white frilled shirt. His black pants (also poofy) are held up by an orange cloth belt. Covering his feet are two finely crafted wooden shoes that swirl upward at the tip. On occasion, Basilio is also known to wear a dark blue magician's cape with a long collar.
Personality:
Basilio is a flamboyant person to be sure, but not so much that it makes him look outright dandy or silly. He has a great appreciation of the arts, and enjoys dancing, singing, and writing poetry. He is a very cultured man, despite the fact that the culture he was raised in is now likely lost forever. Regardless, he is always quick of tongue, of mind, and of spirit. He is both a gentleman and a rogue.
Behind his smugness and rogue-like charms, however, dwell much darker things. Basilio is driven by a desire for revenge. Regalia took just about everything from him. He has nothing to remember his loved ones by; no family heirloom, no locket with a portrait of his mother inside. Because of Regalia, Basilio believes has nothing of value left in his life other than his skills with a blade. So he quests relentlessly for Regalia's destruction, keeping a smug, and subtly twisted smile on his face the whole way.
The one thing that keeps anyone from claiming that Basilio is outright evil is his sense of honor, dignity, and to an extent, morality. Basilio is honorable in spite of his burning hatred for Regalia, and refuses to allow himself to be unnecessarily cruel to people who don't deserve it, as well as people he personally respects. He hates harming women in any way, which can be seen as either sexist or simply chivalrous depending on your point of view. He has a soft spot for children and the poor, and he holds a great deal of respect towards adventurers who have noble goals. All in all, Basilio manages to be a somewhat decent person. Quite the blessing, considering how much damage he could do if he was simply a madman out for revenge.
Weapon: Short Sword
Subweapon: None
Abilities:
Dance Macabre: No matter how fast the opponent is, Basilio will always have every area around him covered. Basilio knows the Nomade sword sage technique of dancing around the opponent in order to gain the advantage. Regardless of the opponent's speed, Basilio will always be able to be on whichever side of the opponent he pleases. If he wants to attack from behind, he will attack from behind. If he wants to leap over the opponent and slice at the opponent's throat, he can do that too. If the opponent tries to run away and escape through normal conventional means (that is to say, by running), he can easily simply return the front of the opponent and block further passage. This ability, while helpful in determining positioning and dodging attacks, does not mean he can dodge every single strike. For example, if Basilio is behind his opponent, a well timed rear elbow strike may still hit him. Basilio can not use this ability in the same post he uses the Blade Finnesse parry in.
Blade Finesse: Basilio has mastered the art of parrying attacks with a small weapon. With this ability, Basilio can easily deflected melee arms such as spears, axes, swords, and daggers. He can even parry bullets, arrows, and magical projectiles, if they're not too large. Parrying does guarantee a counter attack, but it does allow Basilio to easily defend himself against many attacks. This ability does not protect Basilio from attacks from heavy weapons like giant war hammers, or large blasts of energy. Basilio can not follow this ability up with Dance Macabre in the same post.
Magician's Flame: By utilizing his knowledge of fireworks, and some knowledge of magic, Basilio has created a special powder that can ignite at his choosing without causing any harm to himself. He can throw the powder in the air and ignite it, resulting in a cloud of flame bursting in the air. He can also gather some of the powder in his hands and blow on it, creating a sort of flamethrower that can engulf enemies in flame over a distance of about 6 feet. The flame is hot enough to evaporate water, but can still be doused with something cold enough, or by stomping the flames out.
Money: 500 gold pieces he keeps stashed somewhere secret.
Items:
Lockpicks
Rope
Rations
An ornate golden locket
Playing cards
Tarot cards
Vehicle:
Mona - Basilio's beloved mare which he raised and tamed himself. The horse is quick. Quick enough to outrun just about any horse that Regalia has at its disposal. This comes in handy when he needs to make quick escapes. Basilio loves the horse as kin, and treats those who mistreat her with disdain and hostility.
Story:
The culture of the Nomade is a thing of mystery. They are known as the original nomads of the world. Their culture is one of the earliest known cultures in the world, but despite how long they were around, they never settled down and built cities. They were caravanners from beginning to end. Their population never reached beyond 1000 men and women, and even then, those thousand or so people were split into several clans.
They were feared by many for their unusual culture and strange rituals, and many believe that they were a society of witches and warlocks. Others believe that they were simply a misunderstood people, and wanted not but to live their lives in harmony with the rest of the world. The answer to who they truly were is all but lost to the world, however, as most Nomade were recently wiped out by Regalian forces during their conquest.
The five dozen or so surviving Nomade hide in forgotten places, fearing persecution from people who would not understand their culture. Half of them live dangerously close to the Desolation Zone, where few are willing to tread. The other half They live secluded lifestyles in caves and deep in the wilderness, and try not to attract too much attention from major civilizations.
There is one surviving Nomade that is worth noting. A single, solitary swordsman who has built himself a reputation as a murderer of knights and generals. A duelist who challenges Regalian generals in mortal combat and leaves their corpses in the street for all to see. Those who refuse to face him die by his hand regardless. Some consider him a hero, while others consider him a terror. The name of this Nomade is not known to the public, so they simply refer to him as the Man in the Renascence Mask. His most famed victory is his encounter with the Regalian supreme general Daroth, who he defeated by gouging out his eyes and letting him bleed to death.
Hero or villain, there is no denying that this masked man is a danger to Regalian forces everywhere. Allies of Regalia are to be wary, and enemies of Regalia are to take note.

Trivia:
Yes, this guy was inspired by Zoro in some ways. If Zoro was a gypsy. And wore much flashier clothing.
Basilio's culture is mostly based off of gypsy culture, but takes elements from cultures all across Europe as well. I like to think they had some accordion music.
