Name: Carl Makkura
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Source: Slvr Universe
Appearance: Carl is 6'1 and wears a long black cloak with a hood. The hood obscures his entire face in darkness, leaving only his glowing red eyes visible. There are chains wrapped around both arms, and he wears a black t-shirt under the cloak with black jeans. The cloak has a wide, red, upward-pointing arrow in its center. He wears black gloves and red and black sneakers. Carl's body is completely wrapped in bandages, excluding his nose, mouth, right eye, and short brown hair.
Stats:
Strength: B
Magic/Energy: B
Speed: C+
Defense: A
Combat Skill: C
Abilities: Undead Body - Carl's body is undead. It is animated by vast pools of magical energy that are intregrated so deep into him that they cannot be touched by energy absorbers or even by ripping him apart. His body is stuck in its current undead form only because this energy halts the decomposition. Since Carl's body is magic-fueled and undead, it can go far beyond the limitations it could if he were alive and human. His physical power is superhuman level. The raw power of his energy is enough to destroy buildings and armored tanks. He still has some trouble controlling how much power is in his energy blasts, hence why he still uses his energy handguns. The firearms allow him to fire energy in small, quick, shots. Carl can take large amounts of punishment even before losing a limb or taking internal damage. He can survive being hit by a car with little, if any, damage. He can still be injured by very sharp objects such as swords, but they will require more strength behind the slash to cut through him.
Healing Factor - Carl has the power of regeneration. If he takes damage to his organs, limbs, etc. it will completely heal within hours. Minor injuries such as small cuts and bruises will heal in minutes. Destroying his head or heart individually will disable him until the damaged area regenerates. If his head is cut off and not reattached within a day, the original head will rapidly decompose and a new one will form. Same goes for his heart. However, if both the brain and heart are destroyed at the same exact time, this will effectively kill Carl. This healing factor makes him effectively immune to all poisons/diseases. This healing is powered by the energy coursing through Carl's body, so the more severe an injury the more energy it will take to heal. This energy is replenished in a similar way the energy of normal humans is: by eating, sleeping, etc. Carl does not need to sleep/eat if he decided he has enough energy.
Darkness Body - A more unique aspect of Carl is that he can change parts, or all, of his body into pure darkness energy. For example, he can change his arm into energy and shapeshift it into a sword. He could also, for example, change his whole body into energy and morph into an enormous saw blade. Since this form is energy, Carl can seep through cracks in the ground/walls/etc. and, since its darkness energy to boot, he can also melt into the shadows of an environment and remain hidden. Staying melted into shadows requires concentration. Darkness Body has one glaring weakness. If whatever part of him is energy, whether it be a limb or his whole body, is hit by another type of energy he will take tremendous damage. Being hit by energy while he himself is energy will almost always guarantee he is knocked out. His energy form can also be absorbed by those with energy absorbing powers. Being fully absorbed can kill him, but it also depends on what absorbs him.
Mental Tools - Carl's two large scythes and chains can be mentally controlled by him. This is why when he launches a chain at something it will rarely miss. Having full mental control of his scythes means he can use the as a means of transportation. If he stands on one, he can control it in the air and effectively fly somewhere on it. Both the scythes and chains are personally linked to Carl through his exposure to Hell's energies. This means both weapons are ridiculously durable, can be commanded from any distance, and, if they are damaged, will cause severe mental pain if they were being instructed at the time. A personal favorite strategy of Carl's is wrapping his chains around his scythes and swinging them around, similar to how Kratos uses his blades in God of War.
Adaptation - Carl is a unique being in that his body learns new powers and abilities as he is defeated. If Carl is defeated by a lightning-focused enemy, his body will gradually build a resistance to electricity through repeated battles with the enemy. This will eventually result in complete immunity to electrical attacks. A more extreme example of this would be if Carl were fighting an enemy who had the power to manipulate time. If he were to fight this enemy multiple times and lose a lot, Carl would gradually gain his own time manipulation powers until he finally defeats his foe.
Fire Immunity - Carl's immunity to fire is a result of his interactions with Suzuki. He has been exposed to her flames so often that he gained a resistance. The energy given to him before her death made him completely immune to any damage fire would normally cause. This also means he has a resistance to lava/magma, not an immunity. He will still be burned/melted by it. Just not nearly as badly as he normally would.
Chains of Restriction - Carl's chains are not there for merely cosmetic reasons. The chains are actually limiters for his incredible power. They are wrapped around his arms several times, but the more they become unwrapped, the more power Carl can use. However, there will be no actual increases in his power until the chains are only wrapped around his arms three times and it'll be at that point that he cannot extend his chains any more if he's currently using them. The only way the chains can be unwrapped is if his actual need for that power is great enough. The only time this happened was when Carl was fighting Raijin Krizno, where the third line of chains was unwrapped and allowed his transformation into Onimakkura. These chains were originally placed by Suzuki during Carl's resurrection. She knew he would be unable to control all of his power so early in his new life so she placed them onto his arms to prevent the incredible destruction such power could cause.
Story: You know, I'm probably never gonna finish typing that Makkura story. Especially at this rate. So fuck it, here's the whole summary.
Carl was a normal human who met and fell in love with Suzuki, who was posing as a normal human female at the time. She detected great dormant power within Carl and killed him, resurrecting him with the hope of unleashing his power and making him her bodyguard. However, the fire demon wasn't exactly a master of Soul magic and resurrection was one of the most complicated things a Soul magic user could do. Her resurrection was incomplete and brought Carl back to life with an incomplete body and no memories. The lack of memories proved useful to Suzuki as it made manipulating him ridiculously easy. She did this for a long time, despite protests from her personal assistant Suna. Over time, she began to develop a connection to him and was starting to genuinely care. It was eventually revealed by Krizno, Suzuki's brother, that Carl had a life before then that was taken away by Suzuki. After being shown proof, Carl lost it. He was about to go violently confront Suzuki, but was convinced otherwise by Krizno. The lightning demon revealed his plan to Carl. He was intending to gather the five Existence Stones, which he would use to take down Suzuki. He offered the restoration of Carl's memories and, if he desired afterwards, his previous life. Before he could make his decision, Suna found him with Krizno and begged him to not accept the offer. The emerald-haired woman knew of his treachery and grabbed Carl's arm and continued begging him to not go. The cloaked man refused, saying he could no longer trust her and Suzuki.
Carl was sent out by Krizno to gather the remaining two stones (Krizno gathered the other three on his own before meeting Carl) which set him against Silv, Miku, and C, the three superhumans who ended Cloak's life and closed the gates of Hell. His confrontations with them quickly got the city's military AFHS (Armed Forces for Human Survival) to go after him. Eventually, he was confronted by Commander Miya Kraft, who used a powerful suit of armor against him. After her suit was heavily damaged and she was on the verge of defeat, Miya used her trump card. A cannon, called the Drenilo Cannon, unfolded from her suit's back and shot a white beam of energy at Carl. This beam temporarily cut off the majority of his body's energy flow, nullifying all his superhuman powers while keeping him alive. His death would have surely followed if Suzuki had not arrived and saved him, defeating Miya.
Suzuki was originally angry with Carl for disappearing for so long, but he then revealed he knew of her deception and angrily told her that if he ever saw her again he would kill her. Carl's attempt to get the final Existence Stone would bring him into one final confrontation with Silv, Miku, and C. During the fight Carl completely lost his mind. The stress of finding out he was killed, lost his previous life, lost all his memories, and finally had a chance to get it all back but was constantly being attacked by others, sent him over the edge. Carl's subconscious desire to not kill anyone was shattered and he gained his darkness powers. Using them, he managed to defeat the three heroes and steal the final stone.
Carl arrived at Krizno's base in the underworld just in time to see Suzuki confront her brother. He was originally going to attack her, but then he heard Krizno reveal he was merely using Carl to get the stones so he could overwrite reality and make it so Cloak was not defeated and that the demon realm successfully took over the human realm. He would then place himself as the king of the entire planet and both realms. Suzuki responds by saying that it's foolish of Krizno to even attempt that because the odds of him controlling that much power were practically non-existent and, even if he did control it and reshaped reality, she doubted he would even be capable of being a good leader. Suzuki goes on to say that all of that isn't why she's there. She's there because she wants Krizno to undo whatever mind-control he has on Carl and return him to her. Krizno laughs and tells her Carl came to his side willingly and that he's stayed because he knows nothing of his plans. The lightning demon says he can easily see through his sister's tough mask and theorizes that she's developed feelings for Carl and wants him back so she can make up for what she did. Suzuki hesitantly confirms this and began fighting with her brother. Carl is confused during all this and does not know what to do.
Carl eventually decides to give Suzuki another chance and joins the fight to help her. However, he arrives just in time to see Krizno pierce Suzuki's heart with a lance. Carl quickly runs to her and the two have on final conversation before she succumbs to her wounds. The female demon apologizes to Carl for everything she did and wishes she go back and do everything differently. She also adds that Carl should thank Suna because she was the one who convinced her to come down ad get him back.Right before Suzuki finally dies, she places her hands on his chains, weakening their seals. Carl goes berserk and uses all of his power against Krizno, surprising him and nearly killing him. During the battle the last two Existence Stones get knocked out of Carl's cloak and, after Krizno is near death, he manages to crawl towards them and use them, along with the three in his possession, to transform into a god-like being named Raijin Krizno. Carl fights this form and is severely injured in moments. His incredible desire to kill Krizno and his hatred for him break the seal on the third-to-last wrap of chains. This makes him change into his own, god-like, demonic form named Onimakkura. He has little, if any, control of himself in this form and goes on a rampage against Raijin Krizno. After a brutal battle, Krizno is finally killed and completely destroyed, along with the five stones.
Carl returns to the human realm and goes back to Suzuki's mansion, where Suna is waiting for him. He asks her why she's waiting and she reveals Suzuki knew she most likely wasn't coming back. Therefore, she instructed Suna to take care of Carl for her. The cloaked man laughs quietly and starts walking, saying the two of them should leave the city since they're so unwelcome.
