Name: Levent Alcenes
Age: Appears to be in late twenties
Race: Fallen Angel
Class: Chronomancer
Appearance: Levent’s surface appearance to the average person would lead some to believe that Levent himself isn’t even human. Levent regularly wears a long-sleeved silver tunic with ribbed steel plates grafted onto his chest and torso areas. His arms are further protected by a set of silver gloves for a comfortable grip, connected to a pair of steel gauntlets along his forearms. In between the steel plates and the tunic is a another silver robe which separates down the center at his torso area, connected by two buckles at the bottom of his torso, only to end towards the bottom of his thigh. As the two tails of his robe separate, the images of “I” and “XII” are engraved on the left and right tails of the robe respectively, the left tail detailing the “I” against a crescent moon and the right detailing a “XII” against a full moon. All twelve numbers of the clock in Roman numerals are engraved onto the back of his tunic in clock fashion, every three numbers of a blue color surrounding a four-cornered blue circle with actively moving clock hands that seem to move along with the current time of the world.
His leg armor mainly comprises heeled pearlescent gray boots with silver plates going down his ankles and black cloth pants. His pants and his tunic are strapped together by a series of leather belt buckles, containing a pair of rosaries which cross each other at the centermost belt buckles. Levent’s entire head is regularly concealed by a silver hood, along with a black mask that completely covers his face, detailing a white cross engraved on the center. Two small, respective slits along the very top of the mask allow Levent to see normally, although the eyes beneath them are obscured by pure darkness.
When his cowl and mask are removed, an entirely different visage is revealed. Levent’s face is rather dark skinned in nature, with long sharp tufts of ocean blue hair. His blue hair is often restrained on the left sideburn of his hair in a long ponytail descending down to his shoulder. His eyes are the biggest confusion to his appearance; for being of a divine cult in background, he possesses slit red eyes, suggesting a demonic origin. Although he frequently wears glasses to obscure these eyes, they are of questionable origin to people around him.
Physique: Levent was particularly gifted with a myriad of different sources of power, all of which culminate to one supernal force of nature in battle. As a fallen angel in origin, his physical power and endurance already surpasses the average human being, although his clipped wings do not tell the whole story. He underwent similar athletic training to that of other Erlosung Order members, training regularly with a blade along with supplementary exercises in mobility and flexibility. Lastly, he is a regular practitioner of magic and has honed his control of time beyond what a human should be capable of(which is nonexistent for most humans, even elite mages), rendering him resistant to magic in the process. He is ultimately capable of outlasting a lot of normal opponents and should not be underestimated with a sword.
Personality: Of many of the Erlosung Order members, Levent is arguably the least emotional. Levent is a dedicated scholar, and talks unsurprisingly as such. He speaks in a dignified tone no matter who his target audience is, and chances are he won’t sugarcoat any of his words. He’s extremely matter-of-fact and will speak his mind whenever necessary, although this often distances himself from other people even moreso than his erudite vocabulary often does. He derives personal embarrassment from getting flustered often by people who misunderstand him and people who generally frustrate him, which is the lot of humanity from his perspective. His composure of emotion is unusually precise and his feelings inside are often his feelings on the surface; he doesn’t feel a need to hide an agenda from people.
Levent’s perception of justice is particularly twisted and he sees zero net value –or loss – in human life. He often quotes a preferred author of his in saying that “As we have seen, nobody is lucky enough not to be born, everybody is unlucky enough to have been born – and particularly bad luck it is.” His proficiency of controlling time has only added to this sentiment; seeing as he can predict his own death and potentially that of others through the flow of time, he has perceived time as a mechanism that endangers human beings the more they recognize it, and given how deeply he has dabbled in chronology, he has become particularly jaded in acknowledging the value of life as all of it is limited by the flow of time.
Levent holistically evaluates people not based on their supposed integrity or world views, but to the contributions and ability they have of exercising that world view upon people around them. He has respect for people who can support their own wisdom, or even if they lack wisdom, have good intentions and act upon them. As would be expected, he has a lot of hostility to ulterior motives and holds people to a particularly high standard, expecting them to mean what they say and to act upon their personal beliefs.
Weapon: Wings of Janus: Levent’s weapon appears to be a pair of large gray rosaries often stored on his waist, crossing each other. Once released into his hands, the rear ends of the rosaries are channeled with ethereal energy, becoming of a set of “squallblades” made of beam-like energy. The weight created by the beam blades seems to be rather minimal as he can wield the blades as a pair of extremely flexible swords. The squallblades, as they are called, resemble giant feathers and are roughly less than a meter in length, comprised of hundreds of smaller serrations of energy that resemble “hairs” on a feather. Seeing as the blades are essentially made of hundreds of small hairs of energy, they are efficient cutting weapons and effortlessly slice through objects with ease. The blades can easily phase through flesh and bone and can leave burning gashes into stronger armor, making them very effective on their own. The front ends of the rosaries can be connected together, allowing him to wield the weapon as a double-bladed sword and augmenting its offensive potential much more, at the cost of control and practicality. The blades can also fire smaller feathers of energy towards the opponent, which can be manipulated through Levent’s control of time. See his Abilities and Subweapon below for details.
Subweapon: The two blades double as makeshift pistols from which Levent can a volley of smaller feathers of energy to be fired at an opponent. These feathers are fired at bullet velocity with the butt of the feather facing the target; once the feather makes contact with an object or opponent, it flutters in the air temporarily near the opponent and sears through tissue if made contact, before dissipating within the next turn. The temporal space around each blast can be manipulated at very little cost to either freeze the blast in time, or if it hasn’t attacked an opponent yet, the blast can be “rewinded” such that it will return straight to Levent’s rosaries in boomerang fashion. Using the “Temporal Flux” ability listed below, the properties of the energy blast can further manipulated as well, at the cost of more energy and losing some initial properties of the blast.
Accelerate ~ Argent Vulcan – Accelerating his own temporal space using the aforementioned ability, Levent can fire a rapid volley of energy blasts at machinegun velocity. The blasts are relatively stronger in number and force thanks to accelerated velocity, although he cannot rewind any of the blasts because of the speed and as a result, they cannot be easily frozen in time either. The blasts will also deplete his energy more rapidly since he is often firing out several blasts at once.
Decelerate ~ Radiant Blast – Decelerating his own temporal space allows Levent a fire a single, powerful blast at his opponent. Although he is firing less than half of his usual capacity of blasts at once, the single blast that he fires is easily manipulated and the resulting impact of the blast is more expansive, creating powerful mini-explosions of energy upon contact with the target. The obvious downside is that the blasts are slow and much easier to dodge, and the energy cost is slightly higher from the focus required for the blasts; however, there are subversive applications to this blast regardless.
Element: Time
Abilities:
Aion Art ~ Temporal Flux: Levent’s modest control over time allow him to dynamically control the temporal space around him or his attacks. Should he accelerate his temporal space, his movement and attack speed are multiplied by over double the usual speed, but at the same time, Levent has a difficult time stopping or interrupting his attacks because of the force of the time acceleration, which may lead him vulnerable to attacks if he is attacking overly head-on. His temporal space can also be decelerated through this ability into a bullet time speed; although this may seem useless by itself, it can be used to deceive an opponent or feign his attacks easily, distracting the foe as he pulls off an acceleration in mid-attack. He has honed this ability to the point of which he can easily control his speed on the fly even if he is already attacking. However, if he is firing blasts through his weapon while using this ability, he cannot change his temporal space in the midst of firing unless he stops firing altogether.
Aion Art ~ Fabric of Recurrence: As long as Levent does not perform an action at any extended point in time, he is capable of imprinting his physical being through an antiquated copy of himself in the time stream, capable of evoking this copy at any time in the present. For every turn he is inactive, he is able to “store” a checkpoint in time of his physical being, capable of evoking this copy any time during the battle at a future turn. In other words, he can summon the copy while attacking from a pocket in time and unleash simultaneous attacks from another side. Inactivity through this ability is defined mostly as not performing any physical actions during a turn, although simple linear movements are considered an exception as they do not require any notable physical exertion. Up to four other copies can be evoked at one instance from the time stream.
Aion Art ~ Rewind Wound: The “clock” on the back of Levent’s armor has some enchantments that allow him to use a makeshift recovery ability that enable him to outlast opponents. Using the checkpoints established by the “Fabric of Recurrence” ability, he is capable of regressing his physical state to a prior time in the battle, recovering any wounds and energy loss he may have taken in the past turn(s). This phase completely rids himself of any afflictions he took in between the current turn and the physical state he is recalling through the ability, lasting a total of three turns. During the three turns, he will be actively regenerated to maintain the state of his body during an earlier turn, although he can still take damage regardless and this damage, along with any energy he uses during the three turns, will pile up after the three turns are over. Although he can easily recall his physical state at the very beginning of the battle, it is more exhausting to him and will tire him out further after the three turns have elapsed. After three turns, the damage he took before rewinding his physical state will return, along with any damage he took during the three turns. If he endures an extremely powerful or “ultimate” attack prior to using the ability, he will most likely faint after the three turns have elapsed, although the resulting exhaustion from his opponent using an attack of that caliber render the ability useful for tactical purposes.
Aion Art ~ Lustrum Bolt: Being a powerful magician, Levent takes pride in being able to apply the control of time to his heraldry techniques. One of the simpler applications allows Levent to ionize a pillar of air within five feet of his current location, whist distorting the temporal space around it to create a blast of silver lightning that tears through the fabric of time itself. The bolt will then appear from anywhere from 1-3 turns after the initial incantation, recurring from the fabric of time and striking the ground once again. The resulting bolt is a concussive blast capable of causing serious damage to body tissue and can potentially crack armor. The bolt grows stronger the more it remains locked in the time distortion, and this power manifests through a recurring pain if the bolt impacts the opponent. Should the bolt appear in the following turn, the resulting pain from the blast will recur again on the victim for another turn, and should the blast appear in three turns, the resulting pain recurs for three turns total. If for some reason the initial incantation strikes the foe, the recurring pain will not occur.
