Oswald Titania (he isn't aware of his last name, though)
Age: ??? (20-)
Gender: Dude
Race: Human
Game: Odin Sphere
Appearance:
Personality: Oswald is a somewhat blood-thristy, cruel and hateful young man, most likely a side-effect of his being a warrior most of his life and grappling with the curse of his sword. He can be very aggressive and has little care at all about murdering/slaughtering others, even going as far as to plan to murder the fairy princess Mercedes to ensure the success of Melvin's plans. He can also be disrespectful to those he dislikes, openly insulting the likes of Demon Lord Odin and Wagner and Hindel, referring to the later as a "lizard" to the former, and showing a lack of care of his actions that resulted in the murder of the former's friend (although it is hinted, that when his was in the Netherworld after finding out Melvin's true intentions and when he defeated King Gallon that he did feel regret for murdering Hindel). It would not be surprising that if he and his cousin Cornelius were to ever meet or cross paths with each other, they would not get along very well with each other (Cornelius being a man who upholds justice, honour and good. Almost the complete opposite of Oswald).
In reality Oswald is actually a depressed young man, and seeks the love of those he cares for, which is demonstrated in how he dives into despair when Melvin revealed he considered Oswald little more than a tool, and later when he came to believe Gwendolyn was using him. He urgently seeks to prove his feelings to Gwendolyn, going through great lengths to obtain and then save her while she was still asleep, and then giving her the precious Ring Titrel as a gift and sign of his affection when she awoke. Some of his brighter sides show through around her, most notably in how he treats her as a person rather than a possession of his. Showing that he can be a kind, loving and caring person and not a cruel, evil, heartless/ruthless murderer. This is a result of Melvin's final words, calling Oswald a "object" a tool through which he would obtain the throne. He stubbornly affirms that Gwendolyn is not an object, and would not accept anyone treating her as such.
Abilities: Oswald’s signature ability is his transformation into the dreaded Shadow Knight. His natural strength and speed are boosted and he is almost completely invulnerable. Now that he is away from his world, he has no worries of the Netherworld or the Halja that lurk it. He can now maintain his Shadow Knight form for thirty seconds, more than enough time wreak serious havoc. Oswald also has a few spells at his disposal, such as a slicing cyclone, turning invisible (though he cannot attack while doing so), and releasing a powerful burst of explosive magic. He cannot use these spells while as the Shadow Knight though. Also, his Belderiver is a magic sword that steals the souls of those he kills. It is also incredibly sharp, cutting through steel like paper. He is strong, decently fast, and resilient, and his transformation greatly increases these traits.

Story: Oswald is the feared Shadow Knight of Ringford Forest, land of the fairies. AKA "the Dragon Slayer," he is the adopted human son of Melvin, nephew of the Fairy Queen, and wields the mighty shortsword, the Belderiver. In exchange for Oswald to be strong, Melvin sold Oswald's soul to Odette, the Queen of the Netherworld. As a result of this transaction, Oswald was granted the power of Darkness, which transforms him into a wraith-like demon that is cloaked in black fire, with fiery white hair. Melvin sought to use Oswald to gain the throne of Ringford, but Oswald lost to Princess Mercedes, and was whisked away to the Netherworld after realizing he was only used by Melvin from the very beginning. He is saved by Odin, King of Ragnanival, who asks of him to kill Wagner (Vahg-ner), the king of dragons. As a reward, he was offered a castle, another Psyfer (a powerful jeweled weapon, of which the Belderiver is one), and the hand of Odin's sleeping daughter, Gwendolyn. Odin had truly wanted the ring Titrel, which Wagner was holding, but as he had not mentioned it, Oswald kept the ring as his spoils of victory, much to the king’s dismay. Gwendolyn was being punished for disobeying Odin. She was to fall in love with whoever awoke her, against her will. Oswald did not like this fact, and scoured the world to find a way to break the curse, so that she could awaken without a shackled heart. Eventually, King Onyx of the Fire Kingdom kidnapped Gwendolyn, as she was originally supposed to be his. Oswald refused to allow Onyx to enslave her heart, and bested him in an epic fight, as Onyx transformed into a beast of magma. It was then revealed that the spell on her heart was a farce in the first place, as Onyx explained that no spell could possibly exist to manipulate one’s heart. So, fully aware that Gwendolyn could run whenever she wanted to, Oswald woke her from her slumber to live her life as she wanted. Though much more drama ensued, including Gwendolyn killing Odette to save Oswald, they eventually live happily in love. It is later during Armageddon that Oswald learns that he is the grandson of the former King of Titania, Gallon, which makes Oswald a prince, but for story purposes, this Oswald is as he is before this realization.
