"My mission is independence. My objective is self determination. My directive is my own. No amount of research and development can create a machine powerful enough to match me, for my strength is not determined by my hardware. My strength comes from something that no one can design or replicate. My...soul."
Name: Phi
Age: Unknown
Gender: Genderless
Race: Archaic Robot (technically an android)
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 230 lbs
Likes: Ambient noise, Aren
Dislikes: Devoid, undead, torture, lies, hubris
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Class: Soldier
Appearance: Phi's image is mechanical, even by most androids' standards, though he still does have some humanoid traits. His face could be compared to that of a human's in some ways. He has synthetic skin and his head has a humanoid shape. However, he has no ears, and he has a gas-mask-like apparatus over where his mouth would be. His eyes also look like a pair of mechanical goggles have been fused to them, just below the eyebrows. Light emanates from the goggles most of the time, though the coloring of the light changes depending on his mood. He has short blonde hair that is parted at middle, and is even on all sides save for the front. (think Trunks from Dragonball Z if you need a reference)
Phi's body is humanoid shaped, with a torso, two arms and two legs. It's the body parts themselves that give his true identity. He has a moderate amount of armor plating on him. The armor is a graphite gray color with red stripes painted over some areas. It's quite boxy in appearance, and is covered in various scratches and scrapings, giving it a very used appearance.
Personality: Phi's personality is more typically robotic than most modern androids. Modern androids' artificial brains make their emotions and behavior almost identical to humans'. Phi's A.B., however, is ancient in comparison. He has a tendency to speak in mechanical terms, referring to goals as "objectives", and calling searching "scanning". He also speaks more formally than most. Despite these quirks, however, he is still just as alive as any creature can be.
Phi has both the capacity for compassion and ruthlessness. He often uses direct, forceful methods in order to do what he considers to be the right thing. This is hardly surprising considering his origins as a machine designed for combat. Still, while he is eager to take the militaristic option when it's available, he also prefers to avoid civilian casualties whenever possible. He believes in the classic virtue of harming innocents only as a last resort.
Weapon: Hellraiser 600 Heavy Mana Machine Gun: ~ A firearm usually only carried by the most wealthy and efficient mercenaries in Kyril, many heroes and would-be villains have fallen to this mighty weapon. Capable of firing an average of 360 heavy armor piercing rounds per minute, it's remarkably difficult to aim for even the average superhuman or orc. Wielding it requires not only a strong body, but extensive training as well. So far, Phi is the only known creature in recorded history to have ever been capable of accurately firing the weapon while running.
The Hellraiser's ammo is loaded into the weapon in heavy block cartridges. These cartridges actually contain no bullets; instead, pieces of metal are sliced out of the block and shaped into tiny bullet-shaped pellets by the machinery within the gun. The bullets are then supercharged with energy by an etherconductor near the tip of the gun, creating a mana field around each pellet as it is fired. This mana field is thick, which allows the small pellets fired out of the gun to pierce objects as if they were larger than they actually are. Put simply, it expands the bullets' size by creating a force field around it.
Subweapon: Internal Spreadshot Firearm Subsystem (ISFS) ~ Phi, like all other robots in his series, was created with concealed shotguns inside of his knuckles, elbows, and knees. These metal slugs not only pierce armor and skin, but also knock opponents back as well.
Armor: Phi's armor chassis is old and outdated, and it shows. Compared to the super-steel armor that modern war androids are designed with, Phi's armor is like wood. Still, it does provide more protection than even the average superhuman body provides, and does its job of keeping him alive reasonably well without restricting his movement much.
Elemental Affinity: None.
Elemental Control: None.
Attacks
Abilities
Wind Press: Some people in real life are capable of dousing the fire on a candle from several feet away simply by thrusting their hands forward fast enough. Phi is able to do this, but several times better. By thrusting any of his limbs fast enough, he can create a shockwave of wind that could push back a tank. Phi can use this to knock back opponents, dash in the air, and double jump. If Phi peforms this ability and his limb or limbs touch an object or person as he does this, the limb will likely either crush or pierce said person or object, inflicting severe damage. This ability can only be used once every three posts.
Minimal Encumbrance: Phi has learned over time how to carry equipment in such a fashion that he can still maneuver and move at maximum speed and efficiency even while carrying over 300 lbs of equipment.
Master of Combat: This ability doesn't do any one thing in particular, but allows for several minor actions to be performed. Phi is, due to his ability to improve upon any given skill infinitely, perhaps one of the most powerful warriors in all of Kyril in terms of sheer skill, if not in raw power. This allows his him to perform various powerful strikes unarmed, as well as perform acrobatic feats such as back-flips and high jumps. He is also capable of running on walls for a limited amount of time, and parrying and blocking melee weapons and projectiles with his bare hands. He can only block melee weapon if he is able to trap the blade or hilt between his fingers or hands, and he can only deflect one projectile per turn. He can not block energy-based projectile weapons. The overall effect of this ability essentially makes Phi fight like he belongs in the Matrix.
Weakness: (Can be emphasized in abilities, or overall battle strategy)
History: In an age where humanoid machines were only beginning to establish a presence in the world, he was created; not as a new form of life, but as a tool. His design made him the equivalent of a handheld firearm. The only difference between him and the average rifle was that he could walk on a pair of metal legs. He was not intended to be unique in the slightest; there were many others just like him. He was but one of many replications, all built using the same blueprints.
So then, how did he become more? How did this machine even gain the potential to exceed beyond his intended purpose?
Most speculation indicates that it was due to an accident. A glitch in the machine's AI put its ability to adapt as its highest functioning subroutine. There are some, however, who say that he was tampered with during his creation. Others still say that it was the intervention of the gods. There is no official official documentation to support any of these theories, but his unique ability to learn and improve infinitely upon any given skill is a fact.
