-Eternity-
"Yes I can! And... that's not good. Um...." Eternity paused, thinking about how to go about this.
"Hm... okay, how about I mean you no harm? How's that for starters?"

Did she mean it? She had the upper hand, being inside of his mind. Yuro conjured up a picture of a shadowy figure having her finger on the shut off button to his cerebral desktop. Reservations aside though, he wanted to believe her. He knew that his mother would never have handed him the shard if she knew it had the potential to kill him. He trusted her, and thus, he wanted to trust this creature too.
"....Okay. I might be stupid for doing this, but I believe you. I'm just so lost right now. My best friend's a vampire, my home is gone, most of the people I know are dead, and now I have something in my head."
Within the landscape of his mind, Yuro had fallen on his knees, confused and exhausted.
"So much is happening. I can't keep track of it all. I just wish everything could go back to normal."

-Eternity-
In the mind, time was relative; none of the others would really notice the internal conversation. It was perfect for Eternity. Eternity felt Yuro's pain. As Eternity's pain was passed to Yuro, and so forth.
In the landscape of Yuro's mind, formed a fairly young figure, wearing a simple white dress, completely featureless, to the extent that not even shadows showed on its surface. It was clear it leaned towards femininity. "She" has short, crystalline blue hair, and a matching set of eyes. It was also clear that the childlike figure meant no harm to Yuro, as she curled up, holding her knees as she sat across from Yuro.
"I know... the pain of that day all too well." Eternity looked up at Yuro, a sad look in "her" eyes, "I have.... felt, every thing you have lost, in some way or another, now that I am connected to you."
It was something of a flaw, that Eternity considered a strength, but in the end, a flaw none the less. "She" was emotional. Very, very emotional.
"... I can't set everything back to normal, though. As much as I wish I could, I can't." Eternity thought of something, and pouted slightly.
"And I'm not a 'something'."

...She seemed sincere. While a part of Yuro was still unnerved by the circumstances, he had no reason at this point to believe that this thi-...this person, was malevolent.
"...Yeah. I guess you know then."
Yuro began to relax. He was, both in his own mind and in the physical realm, much less distraught. He was still confused, but no longer in a panic.
He looked to the small feminine image sitting across from him. Completely featureless, but clearly alive in some way. Yuro almost wanted to say she looked like a child's drawing come to life. For some reason, it didn't seem to creep Yuro out nearly as much as he thought it should have. Perhaps it simply helped to give shape to the person in his mind. This person who referred to itself as Eternity.
"So...your name is Eternity, right? Just what exactly are you? You said you're the core of Kyril, but I haven't even got a clue what that means. Are...are you some kind of ghost, or a manifestation of something?"

"No, that's not quite right." Eternity thought to herself for a moment; Yuro wasn't Gurren, and trying to figure out the words to use here was difficult for her. How could she make it so he could understand.
"My... body is the core of Kyril. I provide mana to the world, keeping Kyril in the sky, and... I suppose I shaped the world to a degree. When pieces of my body, tiny pieces, find their way to the surface, anyone who touches them gains power, and a link to me. Like that crystal that your mother gave to you."

"I, however, am an exception." Raiga's voice sounded from "behind" Yuro as a mental projection of Raiga appeared by Yuro's side. The clothes Raiga's projection wore were different than those he was wearing in the material realm. He wore a fine navy blue hakama with a matching gi and black obi. He wore a long, fine, almost militant looking white jacket, and his hair was notably shorter and thicker. "I am linked to the Jinzougami in a different way, though linked nonetheless." Even though Yuro had never heard of the word "Jinzougami" he intrinsically knew what it meant, simply by being linked to Raiga. Eternity, the Man-Made God. "You must understand something, Yuro; Eternity is not entirely in control of the shard in your body. It contains a fragment of her essence, but none of her will. Not unlike losing a finger. A finger will not move on its own once severed from the body. And now this blind piece of raw power is inside you. As you can imagine, you must use the utmost care to keep it from going out of control. You felt but a fraction of its potential not a moment ago, did you not?"

Man-made God, Eternity. The perpetual master computer of Kyril. It was starting to come together, even though it sounded ridiculous.
Yuro sighed and slumped his shoulders.
"Man...This is all so surreal. The fact that my mom had something like this locked up in the basement makes me wonder what she and the Corps were doing before she moved to Grand Divide."
Yuro finally managed to muster the will to stand back up. He glanced at Raiga, then looked back to Eternity's doll-like form.
"This is so nuts. If I were to tell anybody on a message board this, they'd probably respond with 'cool story bro.' Ugh. What have I gotten myself into?""

Eternity didn't want to scare the boy; that wasn't her intention at all.
"... I'm nothing like a god, Yuro. I don't have any omniscient powers, and I can't move. People like you are the only links I have to this world." The child-like figure's voice was melancholy, sad even, "Without people like you, with a link to me, I... I can't see, hear, smell... I can't do anything."
"So, honestly... you haven't gotten yourself into anything worse than what you've already been through. Just hope you can put up with me better than Gurren over there."
-Lea-
". . . . ."
Okay, Yuro and Raiga had been quiet for a little too long. Lea quietly reached over and shook Yuro's shoulder, kinda worried about how spaced out he was...
"U-Uhm... Yuro? You okay?"

"We are communicating telepathically through the Eternity Crystal," Raiga said to Lea. "I do not expect you to fully comprehend my words." Solala looked back and forth between Lea, Yuro, and Raiga, at a loss for what she should do.
"So, um..."
"The boy will speak up when he's ready, do not rush him," Raiga cut her off. Solala pouted, annoyed with how little she could do.

So that's how it was.
"I see. So you can only perceive the world through people like me. But why me then? Why not someone with a lot of experience? Someone who's traveled a lot and knows the world? Everything I know comes from textbooks, message board posts and gossip."
For all intents and purposes, Yuro felt that he was somewhat unworthy of being a host for such a being. All he wanted from life was to live it comfortably. Go to college, get a job, retire and die. It was a lifestyle that a lot of people might have found boring, but Yuro couldn't imagine anything more satisfying than living a simple life devoid of complications.
How did that make him champion material?

-Eternity-
"I... uh..." That was actually sort of... awkward. In the past, people who had touched the fragments of the Eternity Crystal were like, adventurers. This guy was... kinda different. But, at the end of the day, it was a new person linked to it.
"... well, it isn't like I can choose. And you're kinda different. It might be nice to look through the eyes of someone like you for a change." The words were sincere, with nothing in Eternity's voice that suggested otherwise.

So it was just dumb luck.
"Figures."
Yuro digested all of the information he'd learned thus far and was slowly beginning to accept it. He wasn't comfortable with any of it, but it was better to go with the flow of things than let the insanity of it all drag him down.
"...I should focus on the others now. They're probably wondering what I'm doing."

Solala continued to wait as Yuro and Raiga sat silently. She was waiting with baited breath at first, but soon she had began to fiddle with her fingers, until Raiga spoke up, startling her. "So, you are now acquainted to with the very heart of Kyril," he spoke out loud to Yuro. "However, I must remind you that the Jinzougami has little to no control over the shard that is now inside your body. The shard in you is a source of powerful and dangerous magic, and it is crucial to your survival that you learn to control this raw power. I can teach you to, if you wish, but only after I finish escorting Lea Zeal to Malen."
"Malen?" Solala asked suddenly. "Are you sure you want to go all the way across the Bridge? Why not stay in Grand Divide? Lea... Don't feel as if you don't belong. You're still a citizen here."

-Lea-
"W-Well..." Lea looked to the floor, "... I'm not really safe here. And..." And what, really? Raiga had made her an offer. She didn't want to just turn it down, because it was probably the best bet she had.
"... I don't think there's much of a Grand Divide left anymore. I came up in the middle of it, after all. Its all ruined... and everything is dead."
"Yeah... well... we all saw that." Aire spoke quietly, glancing over to Sorel and her mother on the laptop's screen, "Even if the law let me in over there again, I... probably wouldn't go back."
"Grand Divide was my home, but.... everything that made it my home is gone. That massive pit...? My home used to be somewhere in there."
-Eternity-
"Wow... she has it rough." It was an errant, obvious comment, but as most things Eternity said, it was sincere for certain.

Yuro opened his eyes and paid attention to Lea. Oddly enough, he seemed perfectly capable of hearing both Eternity and the people in front of him without having to shift his focus too much. It was as if Eternity was simply another person in the room.
She was right to say that Lea had at rough. What happened to her was a travesty. He knew how she felt when she said she didn't want to go back.
"Solala, if Lea wants to go to Malen, I think you should let her. If there's nothing here for her, then that's that. There's no point in pretending that your house is still there if it isn't."
