Name: Teris Mena
Age: 3002
Gender: Female
Race: Elf
Height: 5'11
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Class: Mage, Assassin, Witch
Appearance:
Personality: Teris is generally a cheerful, and kind individual, someone who's always willing to have fun, or help others. For someone who has lived as long as she has, she has an incredibly positive outlook on life, and in most cases, always tries to find the good sides of people. For her friends, she is incredibly trusting and loyal, willing to go to the ends of the earth for them.
For her enemies, and the people who truly anger her, her other side is revealed. The smiling silent reaper who once brought her enemies peace has been resurrected by the combined bloodshed of Delphine and Grand Divide, and those responsible for it will someday taste her blade.
Likes: Games, Ice cream and candy, comedies, children, nature
Dislikes: Death, Devoid, Arkus City, children's crying
Weapon: Kind Reaper - A dual bladed scythe that has stayed with Teris since her days as an assassin. The blade is enchanted with several enchantments, the most notable of which being the most dangerous for actual assassinations and prolonged fights; Teris' scythe causes no pain on whoever is wounded by it, even fatally. In the old days, not one of her victims ever cried out in pain. Among other things, this enchantment prevents blood from clotting, and the body from having a proper response to pain, as well as shutting down any sort of accelerated healing effects. Using magic, Teris can split the blade into two sickles, and refuse them in the same way, allowing her change her fighting style in the blink of an eye. The weapon was originally nameless; "Kind Reaper" is the title she was given in the elven assassin organization.
Armor: None
Physique: Teris is a dangerously physically adept elf, with a tremendous amount of magical and physical strength behind her deceptively skinny frame.
Elemental Affinity: Water/Wind
Elemental Control: Teris controls water and wind with startling precision, even for an elf. While capable of creating a variety of offensive and defensive uses for each element, either alone or separated, Teris' old profession as an assassin made extensive use of these abilities. She could stall the wind entirely, or use it to create a distraction, perhaps even using it so far as to fly through the air. She could slip into water, and vanish entirely, creating not even a ripple. All of these ended up as perfect tools for the assassin she used to be.... but... Teris enjoys quite a few sillier uses for her talents nowadays.
Attacks
Wind Art ~ Boomerang Scythe - By using the power of wind, Teris can perpetually levitate her dual scythe in the air, controlling it like a massive buzzsaw, as the wind surrounding it enhances its sharpness even further, to the point that it can slice through trees like a pair of scissors through paper.
Water Art ~ Geyser - Using her ability to change the properties of the water she creates, Teris can create a geyser of scalding hot water that is capable of flash broiling almost any organic foe with out an adequate counter measure. She summons this geyser by laying her hand on the ground, and injecting her mana into it, making the attack fairly telegraphed after it has been seen once.
Assassin's Art ~ Hush, Now - Upon landing a successful melee strike on an enemy, Teris can use her wind magic to rob them of their voice, effectively silencing them and any incantation based magic they may have. Should Teris be able to grab an opponent inflicted by this a second time, she can use the mana she has implanted in their body to silently shred their throat and esophagus with a precise burst of wind magic, drowning them in their own blood, and without the ability to cry for help or heal, ensuring their demise.
Abilities
Creation Art ~ Witchcraft - However, it has been long since Teris has killed for a living, and instead she normally has lived as a witch deep in the Arkus Forest. Witchcraft is a novel sort of summoning and creation magic. Because of her mastery of it, she is capable of creating all sorts of mundane, and not so mundane object, simply out of her great magical talent. This ability is how she often goes about her day, and can often conjure quite a bit of craziness as well. Being able to summon a variety of utensils, small animals, clothing, and so forth, Teris has honed the old art of Witchcraft to a point where she can safely say that she's the best witch in all of Kyril.
History: Teris' history, as well as Mars' history, begins thousands of years ago, at the end of the life of one of the most notorious mercenary and assassin organization Kyril had ever seen; The Order of the Scarlet Tear. For several reasons, they were hated by almost every race, for numerous reasons. Their practices were forbidden by the other elves, they were the most brutally prolific and efficient assassins for hire that Kyril had ever known until the Arens came about, and sometimes, there was no low that they would not sink to. Repeatedly. If someone hired them to kill a family's one year old child to send a message? They would. Gladly.
Enter one Teris Mena, a child born to one of these murderous bastards during the end of the Order of the Scarlet Tear. Born to the clan of assassins at the ends of its days, it was beginning to fall behind; authorities were beginning to track them down, and the major powers were all working to bring them down. She was trained from the earliest age possible to be the most efficient, and most effective killing machine possible. An assassin worthy of the Scarlet Tear's old glory, someone who struck fear into the hearts of their enemies for ages to come.
What they got was a little girl who smiled all the time, and was nice to everyone. And they didn't like that very much.
The training she underwent was among the most grueling, cruel, and unforgiving training that any living thing had been put through. She was worked past the point of exhaustion constantly on both the physical, and magical front. And somehow, through all of the training, the borderline suicidal missions she was sent on, the little girl began to excel to a dangerous degree, while somehow keeping a smile on her face through out even the most brutal bloodshed. Some back then said it was a mental defense, that the girl's mind couldn't cope with the horrible things she was doing. And others said she enjoyed it, and that's why she smiled so much. The truth was that she had undergone mental conditioning by the leader of the Order of the Scarlet Tear itself, tampering with her emotions and mind so that no matter what, she would always finish her assigned missions, no matter what they may be, or what the target may be, all the while erasing her memories of the process. Before she was ten, she had killed at least fifty different targets, some of which were incredibly dangerous targets on the Scarlet Tear's backlog, which contained the few targets they had failed to kill. In short, the girl had been molded into an unholy terror as a child. And once she was fourteen, she was assigned her first partner, Mars Xylion.
Mars, unlike Teris, had never had his mind tampered with; he was violent, murderous, and relentless, and exactly what the Scarlet Tear wanted. And yet Teris remained kind to this boy, who was nothing but rude and abrasive towards her, whom she had been saddled with, as yet another assassin in the Order. For a little over two hundred years, these two grew in the same unit, their skills being honed to razor edges, either as assassins or sell swords. Meanwhile, the Order of the Scarlet Tear continued its decline, taking jobs from the lowest of the low, sometimes for not even that much money. As the brutal, poorly paying jobs went on, one after the other without end, Teris began to crack, the magic that had warped her mind beginning to rapidly crack. Mars witnessed as the Kind Reaper began to break apart, the only person who he considered a friend. He began to grow suspicious of the leaders of the order, as he had seen breakdowns similar to Teris', not only within his own unit, but within others. As one of the few current assassins who hadn't yet had any sort of breakdown, Mars took Teris, and investigated the leading group of the Scarlet Tear. When they discovered what had been done to Teris, and so many of the other assassins, they left silently in the middle of the night, vanishing from the Order completely.
Roughly a week after, a battalion from literally every major settlement descended upon the Scarlet Tear's stronghold, wiping it out, and ending the threat of them once and for all. Mars and Teris parted ways afterwards, each of them eager to find their own path in life. While Mars became a wanderer who eventually settled down, Teris worked on adjusting to a more normal life, and repairing the damage that had been done to her mind over the course of two centuries.
This turned into a rather odd habit of witchcraft.
However, though the course of over two thousand years, Teris got her life back to what she considered to be "right". History did not remember her as an assassin, thankfully, but as the friendly witch who lived deep in the Arkus forest. She was renowned for her pleasant and bubbly personality, as well as how she helped out around two whenever she came into Arkus City.
However, all too soon in the way that elves perceive time, Delphine was attacked and wiped out by Devoid. At the time, the event had been unknown to Teris who found a young Solala dangerously close to Devoid City, the perpetrators of the attack. While she managed to stay with the girl, and keep her safe, she later traveled in person to the ruins of Delphine. Memories of bloodshed began to resurface... ones that she had painstakingly suppressed. And then, a little over a decade later... Grand Divide was attacked, and laid to waste. Teris found herself heartbroken and shocked, to see so many people's lives ended so brutally, the memories of her life as an assassin boiling up inside of her, the part of her that enjoyed killing desperate to sink her blade into the perpetrators of the crime.
But... will she ever get the chance to?
