Here is here a variety of random information about Kyril's world will be posted as it stands. This will be added onto over time. Anyone who wishes to add to the list of terms and what not can do so.
Notable Minerals and Metals
Silvrite - When people think of strong metals, they tend to think of things like steel, or titanium alloy. Silvrite goes a step beyond these, and is one of the only metals capable of withstanding current day Devoid's technology. It is not only malleable, but it holds an almost mother-of-pearl like luster. When painted, this luster seems to absorb the paint, as it will shine a variety of hues in the light. Many military androids in devoid use this metal as an outer casing, while others use a mixture of it and titanium alloy. Commonly mined in Ferin, silvrite is heavily mined by Devoid, and only a small number of insignificant deposits exist elsewhere.
Laon - A bizarre, light, malleable metal that is used to make prosthetic wings in Edge City. Seemingly flimsy at first glance, this metal is nearly impossible to pierce or cut, but bends easily to blunt impacts. An odd thing about this though, and why the metal is so desirable for prosthetic wings, is that it will always return to the shape it was tempered to if dented, but not broken. This metal is also terrible for making weapons out of, even when combined with other metals; it is usually forged pure, but vehicles are frequently crafted out of a combination of laon and steel. It looks oddly like platinum, and is named for Varrus' moon.
Gravite - A luminous, violet ore mined from the core of a massive asteroid that passed too close to the planet. Now tethered to Varrus' moon Laun, this asteroid has been strip mined and broken apart for this unusual element. Gravite caused distortions in gravity, hence its name, and by melting it down and refining it, it becomes a potent power source for gravity based technology. Infact, with this potent power source, Devoid has already created two powered gravity controlling prototype androids, Star Collider and Nebula.
Orzidite - A incredible durable metal mined by Orcs from the dangerous Man-Eating Jungle. An expensive metal due to the difficult of both mining and processing it, importing this metal is normally incredibly expensive. This metal's natural hue is an opaque dark brown, and to an untrained eye, it looks like rusted iron. When unprocessed, the metal is incredibly unpleasant to the touch, often described as a combination of shark skin and fingernails on a chalk board. As a result, bladed and blunt weapons refined from this material are capable of massive damage to an unarmored target. When painted, this metal remained opaque no matter what, making it useful for stealth armor; Aren assassins used to pay huge sums of money for armor made from this material, a long time ago, and are in a sense one of the reason's for Argenon's incredible prosperity and booming industry.
Notable Terms
Subdimensional Space - A unique system of storage that was developed in Devoid within the last one hundred years. It utilizes pocket dimensions as an infinite form of storage, and said dimensions are capable of being open to instantly rematerialize objects with a particular signature. Due to its high tech nature, Devoid was the only one who had access to this system until Star Collider leaked much of their technology to Edge City.
This technology enjoys a number of uses in modern Devoid, such as vehicular storage, banking applications, and combat equipment storage. Devoid's DKS agents and androids use this system extensively. Additionally, if an item has been tagged by a Subdimensional Signature Tag, it can be dematerialized from a long distance, placed in the subdimension, and rematerialized at the user's location, effectively teleporting it.
Corrupted Gravity - Gravity that is control via magical sources, or by gravite. Also known as False Gravity, or Mana Gravity, Corrupted Gravity is a concept that arises when gravity is forcibly controlled, becoming "charged" in the process. With this "charge", the force of gravity becomes controllable, and visible. Gravity energy generated from Gravite is violet, and shimmers as though the air is distorted, so it is hardly the invisible force it normally is.
Drone - A blanket term coined in Devoid for any machine that can be remotely controlled by humans. This can extend from working machines to AI-less combat android husks. Drones are viewed as tools above all else, and have no capacity for intelligent thought. They can be loaded with primitive AI to perform monotonous tasks, but more often than not, are never given an Artificial Brain.
Mana Drive - A unique power source that allows androids to use mana and magic. This power source somehow mimics the concept of life, in such a way that sufficiently advanced androids become capable of manipulating magic and energy; however, because androids have no inherent element to call their own to begin with, they have to be given something to draw power from in order for the mana drive to even active in the first place. Various elemental ores, and the unique material known as Gravite are apt ways to actually activate the core.
Android Pacification Program - A hidden program within the collective android network that stealthily "inclines" them towards Devoid. Truthfully, it could be said to be not so much hidden, as it is flawlessly integrated with the system. The effect is subtle, and completely unnoticeable for android's connected to the network; they are allies of Devoid, and agree with almost everything major that the government decides, or that the military does. This hidden program is unknown to the general populous, a vast majority of all but the most high ranking scientists and military personnel, and the Devoid High Council. The Grimlocke Corps are the first organization outside of Devoid to have discovered the program's existence, and before the passing of Grimlocke himself, passed the information onto Edge City. The general public of Devoid hardly ever brings this into question; they simply believe that androids are blindly grateful to Devoid for their very existence.
