Name: Raven
Age: 55
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Source: Grandia III
Appearance: images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb58378/grandia/images/9/9a/Raven.jpg
Personality: Raven is very calm and collected. His cool demeanor is probably why he was chief of his village. He is deeply loyal to his friends, even the ones that betray him. Despite being the leader of the Bacculan, he prefers to go on his journey alone, probably because of the guilt he felt over not being able to stop Emelious, his close friend, from rebelling. Although he rarely shows his emotions, he is deeply in love with Dahna, his lover.
Stats:
Strength: B
Magic/Energy: A
Speed: S
Defense: B-
Combat Skill: SS
Abilities: Although not exactly an ability, his swordsmanship is superlative and he is able to wield twin rapier-like blades with relentless ease. His swordsmanship may be augmented by the moon itself, as the abilities below may suggest.
Chaos Control: The glowing red circles grafted onto Raven’s armor provide him with extremely effective teleportation powers. He is capable of appearing and reappearing in a brilliant surge of red energy to any area, creating an after-image and silhouetting himself upon appearing in any prospective location. His teleportation capabilities can be used on the fly and do not seem to cost Raven any additional energy. These enhancements to his armor can be used as simply as allowing him to travel at immeasurable speeds, to which he can disappear and reappear in any area in a flash of red light.
Xorn’s Claw ~ Godslayer: In Raven’s possessions is a chipped claw from the ancient guardian of destruction, Xorn itself. What most people do not realize is that this claw is an embodiment of Xorn’s power, allowing Raven to evoke a god-killing greatsword. Upon stabbing himself in the hand to channel this claw’s energies into his palm, a blinding flash surrounds Raven’s hand and expands, revealing the very sword Emelious used to kill the guardians, known appropriately as the titular God-Slayer. This massive sword completely destroys the defenses of anyone foolish enough to stand in its way and Raven is shown to have wielded it with fantastical skill despite the blade being roughly as large as Raven himself. Any contact with the blade, if it doesn’t outright tear an opponent cleanly asunder, will immediately petrify their bodies(or any resulting remains) into glass, shattering shortly after. This is the power used to kill God itself within the world of Grandia, and may any poor soul daring to challenge this blade beg for mercy.
Moonlit Silhouette: It is unknown what the true nature of this ability is, but if Raven’s body crosses any presence of a full moon, his entire body will silhouette itself as a shadow upon the full moon itself. The ability is mostly aesthetic and offers no special properties other than projecting an afterimage of Raven’s appearance onto opponents, intimidating them with his unsightly embrace of the mysterious powers of the moon.
Story: Raven is as mysterious as the moon itself…he is the former village chief of Baccula, subordinated by her lover, Dahna, whom he left in charge of the village in his departure. He traveled the world with his friend, Emeliious, although he rebelled against him as he suspected that the powers of Xorn, the ancient god of darkness, have driven his former friend into insanity. It is said that Raven will appear under the presence of a full moon, which is suggestive that he is perhaps the envoy of the moonlit night, sent to bring justice and retribution to corrupt souls…although, after reuniting with his lover, Dahna, the essence of his very body faded into the night and was transported into the outskirts of Castle Oblivion after a fated duel with his friend, Emelious, which ended in his defeat. It is unknown whether Raven’s existence can be fully eradicated, but light in his soul may allow him to continue living on, enriched by the rays of the moon itself.
