"Ah. So this friend of his actually visited Velder?" Sophia looked towards the ground as her mind went into deep thought. "Perhaps I should head for JX City and find this person so I can get more info on the place. Maybe get directions so I can head there myself. Since I've never heard of Velder myself it only makes sense that I have to go there at some point and learn whatever I can."
"They actually became friends because he helped her solve a murder mystery that happened in the High-Class area of Velder."
She turned her eyes back to Blayz.
"So this friend helped solve a murder case? Is she a detective of some kind?"
The akma's eyes then widened as she looked out the window, seeing the sky beginning to redden and the moon gradually turning the same. She took a deep breath and stood up from her seat, moving her left arm from underneath her shoulder cape. It was completely mechanical and made of gold-colored metal. Sophia moved its fingers, testing the responsiveness, before covering it again and making her way towards the door.
"Well, guess the tea will have to wait. Looks like it'll be showtime soon."

Garrett turned to BJay with an annoyed expression, ready to issue a sharp retort before his gaze was drawn to the reddening sky. The cigarette in his mouth promptly fell unceremoniously, the young doctor staring above them with blank emerald eyes.
The moon...
It shouldn't have been happening this fast. This shouldn't be happening. This...
His heart began beating painfully, as if threatening to escape from his chest. The familiar taste of adrenaline began to fill his senses, mind racing to remember what had happened to anyone unfortunate enough to be caught outside during the blood moon.
No body. No trace. Just a few splashes of blood, telling an untold story.
The two of them had walked too far to return to Rino's. Only one of them was armed as well, which meant that the best option was-
"We need to get back to the house! Move, MOVE!" Garrett roared to his companion, taking off in a sprint down the village road.

B.Jay still smiled as Garrett turned towards him with a look that funnily enough said far more than Garrett did all day but, as he watched this young man's face morph from annoyed to truly terrified? He had a gut feeling something bad was about to happen, he steadied his nerves and prepared to listen to whatever Garrett told him to do. "We need to get back to the house! Move, MOVE!"
In complete silence, B.Jay took off running towards Garrett's house only tailing behind him slightly. Thank god he didn't wear those "cute" shoes because he might have tripped and fell. and the last thing he needs are for his legs to be bruised for his next show.
Oh. Dying would also be really bad but he'll be damned if he dies to some unknown red sky mumbo jumbo.
Blayz postured himself to answer the questions Sophia had asked him but, as he watched her body movements, the interrogation would have to wait. Something was coming and this was finally the time to see what the hell they'd be dealing with. He took a deep breath, turned off the stove to ensure Garrett's house wouldn't burn down and followed behind Sophia.
"I'm coming with you." he bluntly stated.
While there was no telling what was out there, he was not about to let anyone handle this alone. Judging from Sophia's mechanical arm, someone has to have pistols right? He'll be sure to ask Garret as soon as possible if he has any that he can borrow.

Sophia looked at Blayz for a moment, making sure he was serious. No one knew what they were about to deal with, so the risk was completely unknown. It was a real possibility that none of them would see tomorrow.
But she didn’t have time to go back and forth with him on this. It was his choice.
“Alright, let’s go then.”
The akma woman burst forward, running full speed out Garrett’s door. She quickly surveyed the area, looking for Garrett and B. Jay.
Red fog crept into the village, gradually obscuring her view of the ground below. Sophia groaned at this.
“Well, shit…”
She cleared her throat then cupped her hands over her mouth.
"GARRETT!! B. JAY!! GET BACK HERE NOW!!"
----------------------------------------------
As Garrett and B. Jay made their way back to the house, sprinting as fast as they could, a red mist began to seep into the village, eventually making only the top of the tallest buildings clearly visible and making it hard for anyone at ground level, with normal eyesight, to see more than a few meters ahead. The moon itself began to shine like a beacon, a deep red glow bathing the entire village in crimson light.

"Shit..." Garrett slid to a stop and cursed as the dense mist began to settle around them, eyes darting around for an indicator of where they were. They had been close to the house, but this fog... it was a maddening haze of pure red. Left, right, up, down... sense of direction, sense of self, it felt as though the longer that they lingered, the more they would lose.
Backing up slowly, he almost breathed a sigh of relief when his back hit BJay. Okay. Someone was here with him. Breathe. Think.
Backtracking was out of the question. If they kept on the course that they were going, then-
"GARRETT!! B. JAY!! GET BACK HERE NOW!!"
Instantly turning to the direction of Sophia's voice, Garrett roughly pulled BJay's arm and gestured towards the course. The young doctor broke out in another harsh sprint, occasionally sending a frantic glance upward at the crimson-dyed heavens.

So, this is what the party would have to deal with huh? No fucking wonder everyone's terrified of this situation. It was surreal to hear about it, but to experience it was on another level. B.Jay had no time to get scared however, he was going to get himself and Garrett back to his house. After all he promised Rino that he'd be kept safe, right? His running came to an abrupt stop as he ran smack-dab into Garrett's back. Being no stranger to having to constantly shift his weight, he caught his balance and watched as Garret frantically search for his house. Then... "GARRETT!! B. JAY!! GET BACK HERE NOW!!"
That was Sophia's-- Woah! Well, neither of them had no real time to think about anything. Garrett had grabbed B.Jay's arm and jerked him forward in what would hopfully be the final sprint. Having to re-adjust his balance to make sure he wouldn't drag Garrett down was a bit tougher this time but he rose to the occasion to make sure he didn't slip, trip or fall.
However, back at Garrett's house Blayz stood in Garrett's doorway with Sophia as he awaited for B.Jay and Garrett to return. It had been a few minutes since Sophia's attempt at echo-location, so Blayz thought he'd try his attempt to make sure they were on the right track. He cupped his hands around his mouth, took a deep breath and...
"B.JAY!!! GARRETT!!! HURRY THE HELL UP!!!" he screamed at the top of his lungs to let them know where to head. While his attempt to help was valiant, it was ultimately not needed as the two men had been inbound. Sadly for Blayz, he was standing in the doorway so, two fully sized adult men just violently crashed into him! Sophia however managed to dodge with grace!
"Ow...! A-Are you two okay!? the onyx-haired man asked his companions as they caught their breath
"Never... Better!" B.Jay said before flopping back down on the ground. "H-How... are you... holding... up... G-Garret?" he said looking over at the doctor who was kneeling down on the ground gasping for air.

Sophia hopped to the side as Garrett and B. Jay came running through, having heard their rapid footsteps as they approached. She spared a quick glance at them to ensure the crash didn’t result in any injuries then turned her attention back to the village.
“Heading to the rooftop.” She said before performing a tall backflip and landing atop Garrett’s house. With any luck she’d get a shot at whatever targets were in the crimson fog. Or at least have a visual idea of what they were dealing with and could hopefully devise a strategy.
Faint stomping could be heard within the mist, getting closer with each step.
A bow of golden metal folded out from within Sophia’s prosthetic arm and she took a basic arrow from her quiver, nocking an arrow and aiming into the red abyss.
“Last chance, guys.” The tension she felt was clear in her voice. “Anyone who wants to back out now just head into Garrett’s place.”

"Could be better..." Garrett grunted, giving a quick glance over the other two to make sure they were alright. Heavy breathing, possibly bruised ribs, but otherwise alive.
Good. Alive. That was a good start.
Ignoring his own burning lungs and sore legs, the young doctor slowly pulled himself off from the ground, and began walking towards his room. In the corner of his vision, he watched with some interest as Sophia leapt straight to his rooftop with remarkable dexterity. That arm...
Not the time. Continuing towards his room, he disappeared from everyone's view for a few moments, before returning with a giant metal case. Unceremoniously slamming it on the ground near his doorway, Garrett pulled it open to reveal a scattered variety of items ranging from pistols, medical supplies and odd-looking tools that were covered with a fine layer of dust.
These all belonged to a past life. They belonged to the battlefield, not some clinic doctor in the boonies. They belonged to a past him. That's what he told himself, when he came back.
That was the belief that he had been desperately holding onto, these past few years.
“Last chance, guys. Anyone who wants to back out now just head into Garrett’s place.”
With a deep breath, Garrett shook off the stray thoughts, and began assembling various pieces of what appeared to be a sniper rifle. Glancing between the two cartridge pieces that held either tranquilizer rounds or bullets, he selected the piece with bullet rounds without much hesitation.
"Sounds good. You can wake us up when its over." Although there was a fair amount of snark and sarcasm in his tone, like Sophia, he couldn't remove the underlying tension. This blood moon... it felt different from the previous ones. There was a feeling of dread seeping into him that he couldn't shake.

As the Duo watched Sophia do a perfect High Backflip from the ground up to the roof of Garrett's house, and the owner of said house bringing out some sort of war-chest? It was finally settling in that this was real, there was no turning back. "Well B.Jay? What should we do?" Blayz said looking over at B.Jay carefully picking up some things out of Garrett's war-chest. I guess that was his answer! Blayz smiled as he rushed to get himself some equipment. Looking through what Garrett owned, you'd question why a doctor would have so many weapons. Now was not the time however, Blayz grabbed what seemed to be two of the same make of pistol and B.Jay picked up... wait... "U-Uhhhh what are you gonna do with those?" The onyx haired fellow questioned. B.Jay turned to Blayz in a quick snappy manner and quickly responded. "Listen, I'm sticking with the party no matter what, I dont trust myself with a gun of any sort so; if something gets near us? I'm gonna throw whatever these are at them and hope these hurt enough so that one of you can finish it off!" the scantily clad lad answered. Huh... being a scout for the immediate area around them and some sort of distraction didn't sound like the worst thing B.Jay could do. "You... are absolutely right." Blayz responded before running into the guest room and grabbing a pillow case. "I dont trust you with a gun either, put whatever those things are in here and stick with us!" he ordered. "Sounds good. You can wake us up when its over."
B.Jay had heard Garrett respond to Sophia and that sass sounds about right, there was a twinge of... hesitation there. He grabbed his sack full of throwing items and placed a hand on the doctor's shoulder.
"Where are we headed?" he asked awaiting for orders.
"Yeah, how do we get to Sophia on the roof?" Blayz awaited an answer.

Garrett kept a wary eye as the two rummaged through his stash, an eyebrow raising at what B.Jay had chosen to grab. He supposed that having them armed was better than the alternative, so he couldn't be too upset. Finishing the assembly of his rifle, he clipped a few bullets into it and began fetching a few other items from his supply. His movements and attitude were considerably different from the young man they had met earlier in the day. They were confident, almost surgically precise movements that belonged to a man who was in his element.
"We're not." The doctor bluntly responded to Blayz, glancing up to where the akma was situated. "No one's been seen again after being outside while the blood moon is out. None of us can move like her either, so we'd be sitting ducks if anything happened."
He gestured to the back of the house, near the kitchen area, where a door was situated. An eerie red light poured through a nearby window, painting their previous dining area a crimson red.
"There's two entrances to the house. Blayz, cover back entrance. You're with me at the front." Garrett shot a quick glance over at B.Jay, then situated himself at a spot near a window at his front entrance.
There was nothing more unnerving than an enemy that was unknown. It had been weeks of this, and Garrett still had no idea how the blood moon worked, or if there were even any enemies at all.

Sophia heard Garrett giving orders to Blayz and B. Jay and spoke as well. "I'll do my best to help both sides. Since I'm up here I can easily see both ways."
However, before anyone could even get into position after Garrett's orders, the stomping became loud enough that it was clear something was here. Straight ahead of the group, a few meters away, emerged a tall figure from the red fog, the ground cracking beneath his feet. His skin was a patchwork of different shades of a sickly gray, he had no hair, and wore a dark metallic mask around his mouth.
Garrett, Blayz, and B. Jay could likely hear Sophia as she quietly said "What the hell is that...?"
The creature was over nine feet tall, had a well built physique, and his eyes had black sclera with red pupils. He wore a bulky light brown bodysuit, covered with a darker brown trench coat along with dark spiked boots and gloves. To go with this newcomer's intimidating appearance were two metal gauntlets that went across the entirety of his arms.
The crimson fog further retracted from him, like tentacles unwrapping a guest, and the creature simply cocked his head to the side, a questioning grunt leaving its mouth.

As the miserable mist started to subside, there stood this absolute gargantuan of a... being in it. What exactly was it? This creature looked like it come straight out of one of hell. The sight of this... thing made B.Jay completely freeze up. He was terrified and confused, what were they supposed to do against this? Were these round things from Garrett's war-chest even effective? Would they even stand a chance with all the actual weaponry they have? Just... what the hell did they get themselves into?!
Blayz could see that B.Jay was like a deer caught between headlights as he examined this being as well. He silently stepped over to B.Jay before putting a hand on his shoulder. The scantily clad lad started to come back to reality when he saw Blayz next to him. He took a deep breath then turned to Garrett who probably had the cog-wheels turning in his head just as much.
"What should we do, Garrett?" B.Jay asked.
"If people are safe inside their houses, should we just call Sophia in here? We dont know exactly what thing creature is capable of and trying to fight it might be our only chance." Blayz suggested.
Whatever the plan, they had to make a decision and stick through with it.

For a moment, neither BJay nor Blayz got a response from the doctor, who was still staring at the creature in front of them with a slack-jawed expression. It was humanoid in shape... but those eyes. There was something primal in the creature's scarlet gaze that sent a chill down his spine. Was this what had been hunting them down for the past few weeks?
Realizing that the other's were still waiting on a response from him, Garrett took in a sharp intake of breath, trying to clear his mind. Right. There was an enemy in front of them now. Even if it had different than what he was expecting, that was more than they could have asked for before. Swallowing, he wiped his palms free of sweat, before training his rifle sights back on to the creature just in case.
"...Doesn't seem hostile yet." Garrett noted, grimacing in displeasure as the creature cocked its head curiously at them. Blayz had the right idea, but unfortunately it was missing a key piece of information.
"People have disappeared from their homes before. No guarantee it won't come in." He spoke in a low murmur, as if hoping his voice wouldn't provoke the gargantuan.
"No sudden movements, but be ready."

The creature's eyes moved up to Sophia, observing her bow, then to Garret, analyzing his weapon, to Blayz, and finally to B. Jay. There was nothing but silence for a full minute, as if it were considering its options. Then it roared, the bestial scream echoing throughout the village, smashed its hand into the earth like a shovel and flung several large chunks of earth with the force of a bulldozer towards Garrett, Blayz, and B. Jay. "Tch, well he's hostile now!" Sophia said before firing a few arrows at the creature, which simply stepped to the side to avoid them. She cursed at this, expecting the thing to just take the shots. This could mean that her arrows were capable of harming it, but she wouldn't know for sure until she scored an actual hit. The Servant

Without thinking, as Garrett saw the sudden surge of earth launched at them, the young doctor attempted to shove Blayz and B.Jay down to the ground. Unfortunately, due to the action, he was too slow to react himself, and could only grit his teeth as he felt several tons of earth tear straight through his walls and windows. Blayz and B.Jay could only watch as the doctor flew backwards from the sheer force of the blow, crashing into a small table and splintering into pieces.
"Gah...!"
What ridiculous strength... it was as if a hurricane had ripped through them, Garrett thought while trying to ignore the ringing in his ears. Eventually he was able to catch his breath, and gingerly began to pick himself up from the ground.
Alright, focus. Quick check.
The other two... they seemed fine.
Bones? Amazingly, not broken.
Pride? Shattered.
His house?
...Some things were better left unsaid. Fishing for his rifle, Garrett trained his sights back on the creature, and smoothly fired a round at its head without hesitation.
