With absolutely no warning at all, this creature dug up and flung humongous chunks of rock at Garrett's house. Blayz quickly covered B.Jay's head and leapt backwards to protect him from the dangerous debris. While it was instinct to protect B.Jay he forgot that he had another member of the party with him. Garrett had been sent flying into his kitchen table that had been shattered into what seemed like millions of pieces. Don't worry Mr. Table. your sacrifice wont be in vain, it was time these fellow stop pussy-footing around and got on the offense. Blayz stood up and took a deep breath before gripping the pistols he "borrowed" from the war-chest and got into position; right arm up poised and ready to fire, left arm back and ready to follow through, legs spread making sure to keep his step springy to stay light on his feet. The onyx haired fighter took a shot with the pistol in his right hand before using the momentum of the recoil to bring forward his left arm and take another shot. This stylish technique helps keep accuracy high with the added benefit of making you as mobile as possible. If that thing planned to throw more earth, Blayz would be ready to move and continue his onslaught. While Blayz put on a display of beautiful Bullet Ballet for this monster, B.Jay quick crawled towards Garret's side, took out one of the projectiles and chucked it at the thing's head with all his might. He still had absolutely no idea what he was throwing but, he had an idea. "Hey, Garret. Can bullets pierce through these things? If so, making whatever these are explode might put a dent in that bastard's stupid face!" he exclaimed.
As those two discussed strategies, Blayz noticed something a little off with these guns. Everything felt normal but, he didn't hear any bullet casing hit the floor. Questions would have to wait until they made it out alive. If they made it out alive...

Chunks of earth smashed through Garrett’s home, breaking windows, crushing furniture, and filling everyone’s ears with the sound of a nice home taking its first leap into being ruined. The Servant saw Garrett quickly pick himself back up, sooner than it thought he would, and fire a shot from his rifle. The creature reflexively put one arm in front of its face, using its gauntlet as a shield. The loud clang of bullet meeting metal rang across the battlefield as a brief surge of sparks flew from the impact point.
”Hey, Garrett. Can bullets pierce through these things? If so, making whatever these are explode might put a dent in that bastard’s stupid face!”
The Servant’s bestial eyes turned to B. Jay next, watching his arm fling forward as he tossed the foreign object. Its first thoughts were that it was an explosive and it immediately outstretched an arm, catching it and immediately throwing it back towards B. Jay and the others with all its strength, effectively turning the object into a fist-sized bullet. During all this, Blayz’s bullets were striking it, and a bit of blood spurted out with each shot, but it didn’t seem to truly affect the creature’s movements.
Sophia watched the entire exchange from above, her mind turning its gears as she tried to think of a strategy. At this point they were still unsure of all the creature’s abilities. They now knew it was more dexterous than it looked and that Blayz’s shots were drawing blood...but the monster didn’t seem to even care about that. Its movements were unhindered by the repeated gunfire.
The akma woman silently cursed to herself as she reached into her quiver, not wanting to use her special arrows so soon, pulling out an arrow with a light blue globe at its end and firing it at The Servant immediately after it threw the projectile back at Garrett, Blayz, and B. Jay.
Force Arrow - An arrow that has a blunt tip, using mana to hit its target with enough force to crack bone and stone.

"Tch..." Garrett's eyes narrowed as he saw the creature simply block the bullet with its gauntlet with relative ease. It wasn't just monstrous strength they were dealing with, but inhuman dexterity and awareness. It had the speed and precision to avoid and block his and Sophia's blows, and the endurance to take Blayz' bullets without any issues.
A frontal assault was unlikely to work. They had to catch the creature by surprise somehow, and with more ammunition then what they were throwing at it.
"Hey, Garret. Can bullets pierce through these things? If so, making whatever these are explode might put a dent in that bastard's stupid face!"
"What are you talking abou-" Garrett took his eyes off of his rifle scope and turned to B. Jay, eyes widening as he instantly recognized what the black haired man held in his hand.
"Wai-" His warning was too late, watching as B.Jay chucked the foreign object towards The Servant. The doctor cursed upon seeing the creature roughly grab it in mid-air and hurl it back towards them with bestial force. Ducking, the object soared over the three and crashed into a rather nice-looking vase behind them. The twitching of Garrett's eyebrows as he stared at the vase (his mother had given him it), seemed to tell a story of his rising anger over the destruction of his property.
Despite a few seconds of tense waiting, the small projectile did not explode. Instead, it quickly began dispersing a thick haze of dense white smoke, which seeped out from the house and clashed violently with the red mist outside. Within seconds, the entire area was covered in a potent smokescreen which made it difficult to see even a few meters ahead.

This night was starting to look hopeless as this monster would just eat everything that was thrown at him. As many shots as Blayz fired, they didn't even slow the thing down. It blocked Garrett's sniper shot, didn't even flinch at Sophia's barrage and B.Jay's projectile was caught and quickly flung back at them. B.Jay did his best to dodge while Blayz evaded effortlessly. Hearing something else in Garrett's house break, Blayz stopped his assault and waited for what he assumed to be a grenade to explode. However, there was no explosion.
The projectile had made a sound that seemed like someone was spraying shaving cream while it spewed out a thick smoke. As the doctor's house was quickly filled with smoke.
"Damn it... What do we do now?" The onyx haired fellow though to himself. It was too risky to step outside as who knows what other creatures lurked around in the miserable mist but, staying in their current positions however would lead to instant death. What was the true plan here? Blayz in a frenzy, dashed over to where B.Jay and Garrett were last seen, grabbed both their arms to the best of their ability and ran towards the back of the house where the smoke was the thickest. He slammed every open door there was before heading into Garrett's room and slamming that door was well.
Okay, they had time to catch their breath and gather their thoughts.
"Are you... alright, B.Jay?" Blayz asked panting to catch his breath making sure to keep his voice down
"I-I'm fine... How about you Garrett?" B.Jay whispered towards the doctor.

Sophia has prepared herself to leap off the roof the moment she heard the grenade explode, but was surprised to see thick white smoke spewing out from the front of the house, as if the building itself were vomiting. Hopefully Garrett and the others would take advantage of the smoke to form a strategy since it seemed, unlike the red mist, The Servant couldn't see through it as it was currently swiping its hands in front of it to clear some of it away. Its frustrated growling was growing louder as it kept swiping.
Then it looked up at her and she froze, realizing what it was about to do.
Sophia retracted her bow back into her arm and scrambled backwards, hearing the creature roar as it leaped into the air, landing on the roof and directly in front of her, the sound of splintering wood filling her ears.
Her mind panicked and she said the only thing she could think of.
"Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, sh-!"
She held her mechanical arm in front of her like a shield as The Servant raised both its arms, bringing them down upon her.
---------------------------------------------
Garrett, B. Jay, and Blayz's conversation was interrupted by the sound of crashing and the scream of metal and wood breaking. About five meters away from them the ceiling broke apart, chunks of pipes, flooring, and electrical structuring smashing the floor, and they could see the shadow of the large creature and someone else falling down. Sophia could be heard grunting in pain as she hit the floor with The Servant on top of her. Its repeated strikes on her magitech arm sounded like a bell, and each blow was followed by a loud curse from the akma woman.
It seemed like the creature was completely focused on killing its current prey, completely ignoring the thick smoke around it.

"Oi-!" Garrett began to protest upon feeling his arm dragged backwards, turning a glare towards the offender before they were all pulled away deep into the house. Sophia was still on the roof… the idea of retreat while a comrade was on the battlefield was foreign to him. It was a disgrace to the memory of Alten Valtz.
"I-I'm fine... How about you Garrett?"
"...I'm fine. Maybe some bruising." He muttered, the familiar scenery of his room seeming to calm down his thoughts somewhat. No… the idea itself wasn't bad. There was seemingly nothing any of them could do against that thing. Strength, speed, firepower… they were outclassed in almost every way. Direct combat wasn't going to work. They needed to-
His thoughts were interrupted by the screaming crash of shattering wood and metal, as Sophia and The Servant crashed down a short distance from them. His mind went blank, eyes widening in horror as the sound of the woman's cries of pain mingled with the creatures savage blows.
His mind went blank.
There was no room for any more doubt, or hesitation. Someone was in front of him, wounded and needing help. Even if his mind told him that it was no use, his body could only go forward.
Moving without thinking, Garrett sprung to his feet and began dashing towards the direction he was hearing the sounds.
"Get out of here! Find Rino, make sure she's safe!" Sparing a momentarily glance backwards at Blayz and B. Jay, the doctor's gaze moved back forward. Before long, he was able to spot The Servant wailing on a desperately defending Sophia. Without skipping a beat, Garrett pulled a magitech pistol from his side, and fired a few rounds of heated mana blasts towards the creature's head.
[[Eagret Magitech Pistol ARG-1X - The magitech firearm is said to have revolutionized combat by largely replacing live rounds. They function by drawing on the mana of its user, firing heated energy blasts imbued with the element of the user. In the case of Garrett, this means the ARG-1X is capable of discharging incendiary mana bullets at a semi-automatic frequency.
It should be noted that the ARG-1X is an older model, capable of overheating under extended use. Additionally, since magitech firearms draw off the mana of the user, it is possible to become mana-depleted if recklessly discharged.]]

Hearing the noise of metal scraping and the wood crunching could only mean one thing. This thing had went after Sophia! Considering its over-all girth, just how did that thing even get up on the roof without them noticing?! Whatever the case may be? They were face to face with this monster and the haze from the smoke bomb was seeping into Garrett's bedroom gradually making it harder to see. There was only one thing to do and Garrett already had the right idea.
Blayz sparred no time to get his own shot in at this monstrosity. He sprung into action pistols still gripped tightly but, now that he was within melee range? It was time for him to put all of his master's teachings into practice. Since this creature was busy wrestling Sophia to the ground, it shouldnt be able to fend off other attacks. There wasn't much room, so he had to be careful not to destroy anymore of Garrett's house, so he carefully couched down then sprung forward into the air
"Haaa!!!" the onyx-haired fellow let out a loud battle-cry as he rapidly descended onto this monster's body to do some damage with a powerful dive-kick. Quickly he bound away to safety, to get some shots in then rush in for another powerful kick. This "Hit and Run" style wasn't his usual technique, but there isn't enough space to keep on his usual relentless assault.
"Get out of here! Find Rino, make sure she's safe!"
Hearing those words meant that this was all B.Jay. Without speaking a word, he snuck out of Garrett's bedroom window and quickly booked it to Rino's house. He still had a few more of those canisters to use if something else was in this miserable mist but, he hoped and prayed that this was the only thing to contend with. Cause if those three couldn't take down that one? No way in hell would he be able to survive this alone.

The Servant had gotten tired of trying to break through Sophia's prosthetic arm and firmly grabbed it, pulling the arm away and exposing her face. It pulled its free arm back, ready to crush her skull with all its might, but then several blasts of super-heated mana struck the side of its head, making the creature roar and roll off the akma woman. It quickly got back on its feet and took a single step towards Garrett before Blayz came flying out from the smoke with a dive kick, which The Servant blocked with its arms and pushed away with its superior strength, but was completely unprepared for the follow up kick, which struck it straight in the stomach and sent it flying back.
The Servant skid back several feet, hunched over and grabbing the floor to slow its momentum. Its head had several burns from Garrett's shots, with one shot having made a burn deep enough to expose the abhorrent muscular tissue in its right cheek. The beast's eyes focused on Garett, fury clear within the crimson pupils, and it charged forward, stepping over Sophia and lunging at the marksman with an outstretched arm. It was fully prepared to grab him and slam him around like a ragdoll.
Sophia quickly gathered her bearings and rolled to the side, moving the fingers on her arm to figure out the damage. She had a bloody nose and her right cheek was bruised, but she refused to be down for the count.
As the battle within Garrett's home continued, the red mist slowly began to seep in through the front of the building.

Garrett smirked with a sense of satisfaction upon seeing his bullets strike true, the grotesque beast recalling its assault on Sophia. A smirk that quickly died upon seeing two crimson pupils lock on his form. Thinking quickly, he threw all of his body weight into a roll to the right. The Servant's outstretched arms missed the doctor, but just barely, as Garrett felt a hulking mass of muscle fly past him.
Sharply breathing in to try and regain his breath, Garrett's gaze swept over his ruined home in an attempt to assess the situation.
Sophia... bloody nose, some bruising, but otherwise alright. Impressive actually, considering how ferociously she had been attacked.
Blayz also seemed healthy. More than fine in fact, those kicks had no doubt surprised everyone on the battlefield. But that was for another time.
And the creature...
Judging from the look it was giving them, it was more than healthy.
His mind began to race, like a machine tempered with years of war. The situation hadn't changed. This creature would kill of all them if this continued. There was no bitterness or despair in that thought. It was only natural. In a battlefield, the strong felled the weak. They were the prey, not the hunters. But...
...There was nothing that said the prey could not become the hunter. That was also a rule of battle.
He shot a look to Sophia and Blayz, one that hopefully conveyed the thought that he had a plan. Then, without warning, Garrett deposited a few more rounds of his pistol towards the creature, and began sprinting as hard as he could away from the house.
"Oi, over here!"
It was fortunate that B. Jay had tagged along earlier, as the route to Rino's house was fairly simple. However, the dense, twisting red mist made it difficult for the man to see even a few meters in front of him, much less get his bearings on where he was.

The Servant skid to a halt after Garrett dodged its lunge, then prepared to try again but was stopped by more shots towards its head from the marksman’s pistol. One shot struck it in its left temple, while the rest were blocked by its arms.
”Oi, over here!”
Sophia wasted no time and immediately grabbed Blayz, running after Garrett as fast as she could. The creature ripped a chunk out of the wall and threw at her, but she dodged it along with her passenger and the slab of wall burst through the side of the house, creating a cloud of dirt and dust.
Once they were outside the akma woman released the onyx-haired man and took a deep breath before looking back at Garrett’s home for a moment. It was such a nice place before, but now she could even see its poor state from just its silhouette within the red mist.
“I’m assuming you have a plan, Garrett? Cause right now we’re back out in this crimson crap and I really dont want to deal with that thing surprising us. Although we’d probably hear its footsteps way before then.”
Her eyes moved back in the direction of the house again and she clenched her prosthetic hand.
“I say we probably have one or two minutes until it comes at us again.”

As the battle raged on, Blayz noticed that Garrett shot him a particular look. The doctor had a glint in his eye which could only mean one thing. "Oi, over here!"
The onyx-haired fellow quickly turned his head towards the direction before he felt a hand grab him and rush him away from the house. That monstrosity tried to stop them by yanking out a chunk of Garrett's house and throws it at them, but they managed to dodge to safety. Once outside, Blayz was relieved to see that everyone was in one piece though, this miserable mist made it difficult to do so.
Surveying the area as best he could there didn't seem to be any other forms of life out there that could surprise them, so they could finally have a moment not fueled by "fight-or-flight"
“I say we probably have one or two minutes until it comes at us again.”
Hearing Sophia's analysis, he took a second to breath deeply then turned to the doctor.
"I'll follow your lead Garrett, whats the plan out of this mess?" Blayz asked with his eyes full of determination. Meanwhile... B.Jay had finally made it to Rino's house. He thought carefully about his next move as making too much noise could attract whatever else in this burgundy bog. To his surprise however, Rino's door was unlocked. The scantily clad lad took a deep breath, opened the door and walked inside.
Still armed with his bag full of projectiles, he did his best to steady his nerves and made sure to take note of the door and windows in case an emergency exit was needed.
If only he had a flash-light...

"We're getting our ass handed to us. Can't go on like this." Garrett stated bluntly, shooting a glance over at the direction of his ruined home. Grimacing, he thought he saw the shadow of The Servant's monstrous form.
Right. Few minutes. Talk fast.
Quickly, Garrett looked around in the dense red mist around them, eyes narrowing as if trying to find something in particular.
There. Faintly in the distance, was a brick and mortar home with a distinctly blue roof. The Pale's house, meaning that direction was East.
"I should know this place well enough to navigate through this red mist." The doctor muttered, hoping that his voice carried some semblance of confidence in the idea. "Let it chase us."
An image of Orlon Village, when they first arrived, flashed through their minds. A quaint, unassuming village with rocky shores and rough waves in certain areas. Most of the village was level, but part of the village had steep hills and higher elevation. At its highest, there were 80 to 90 foot cliffside drops in rocky shores...
"We're going to lead the damn thing off a cliff."
Rino's house was pitch black, without a single source of light to be seen. Either its inhabitants were asleep - or didn't want to be noticed.
As B.Jay's eyes began to be accustomed to the night, the details of the house slowly began clear. Much like Rino's personality, it was a cozy, quaint home with warm decorations, and what appeared to be a plethora of photographs ranging the walls.
Contrasting the warm decor was an unnatural stillness to the air. It was quiet. Far, far too quiet.

That idea actually made quite a bit of sense. It was becoming increasingly clear that they didn’t have enough firepower to destroy the creature themselves, even though Garrett’s shots did some damage and Blayz was able to physically repel the beast it was very possible that they’d all be killed before they inflicted enough damage to end it. It did seem like forcing the thing off a cliff was the best way to ensure their survival while also defeating it.
“I highly doubt that thing can swim. Even if it can, it’s gonna get hurt from falling off the cliff in general, so hopefully it just drowns because of that.”
Sophia paused for a moment, trying to see if she had any better ideas. If she could get a direct hit with her Void Arrow it would likely be enough to gravely injure, if not kill, the creature. But with the dexterity it showed them so far, managing to hit it with a single shot was a tall order. She placed her hand in her quiver, her finger touching the shaft of the powerful arrow. She only had one. If she missed, then it was over.
“I can’t think of anything better. I’m with you Garrett.”
As if hearing the end of their discussion a loud roar could be heard in the direction of Garrett’s house, as well as stomping that was gradually growing louder.

Off... a... cliff...? Now just how in the hell were they gonna-- "I've got your back Garrett!" Blayz confirmed. With not much time to truly think, they had to act and he knew they had to act. No time for hesitation or second guessing, you either shit or get off the pot. "So, what do you want us to do?" he awaited his orders as he'd follow them loud and clear. Now that they were outside? Blayz's mobility wasn't hindered as much but, that might not mean much since this creature's mobility was also available to him. So the idea of playing the decoy was even more stupid than usual. He could hear Rena lecturing him on why being a hero is bad while making him run 1000 laps around the city. Shaking off that image, they had to work as a team. Quickly. If Garrett got a clean shot in, then Blayz took that opportunity to lay into the monster, then Sophia used the bow she brought to give Garrett time to reload and get another shot in, they could rotate their abilities before eventually delivering the final blow and sending him over-board. Would they be coordinated enough to do so? Back at Rino's house. It was completely dark, and the silence was almost maddening. There didn't seem to be any sign of a struggle or that an intruder had come to visit. All of the family portraits were still neatly aligned and straight out of a storybook. Seeing Rino with her family and friends brought a smile on B.Jay's-- Wait a second. Is that Rino and Garrett alone?
Now's not the time B.Jay, focus.
Nobody was downstairs, I guess the only place to go was up? He took a deep breath and slowly walked up the stairs taking care not to make much noise.
Remember B.Jay, trust that she's safe. It'll be okay!

"So, what do you want us to do?"
As soon as he heard the question, despite the precarious situation they were in, Garrett let out a low chuckle. He smirked, glancing at the two before gesturing over to the horizon.
"For now, hope you can run."
True to his word, the group began sprinting in the direction of the home with the blue roof that Garrett identified earlier. As they neared it, Garrett began slowing down, desperately darting his vision about in an attempt to identify where they should go next.
"Make sure its still chasing us." The doctor muttered, eyes wildly trying to look through the dense red mist. "This is all for nothing if the thing is just running around the village instead."
Not there... not there... there. A tall tree in the distance, distinctively angled up from the ground. It was easily identifiable even through the dense shroud. That direction must have been north.
Rino's Home
As soon as B.Jay took a single step up the staircase, a figure suddenly moved in the shadows. Uttering a guttural battle-cry (that sounded like it was more to summon courage than to intimidate), a silhouette jumped behind B.Jay, brandishing what appeared to be a wooden club.
Without much warning, the figure swung the club with reckless abandon directly at B.Jay's head.
